Seriously the coolest place ever! I felt like I was truly getting the authentic German experience. Loved the decor. We were seated right away and the service was impeccable. We got drinks shortly after sitting down. For appetizers, I got the fried bread dumplings. Super delicious. I was dying to try one of their platters for lunch and they were happy to give us the dinner menu. My partner and I shared the Bavarian king platter. It has the pork hock, pork chop, potatoes, knackwurst and bratwurst. It comes with the soup of the day. Their cream of mushroom soup is to die for!! We also got the Spesi for the full German dining experience. I literally cannot wait to go back. Our server was very friendly and perfectly attentive. He came back often to check on us when we needed but not too often. 10/10

I haven't been to the Gasthaus since pre-pandemic days, stopped in for a late lunch. Had a beer, just the right amount of hops flavor to it, I wish I could remember what it was. House salad was superior, then Jagerschnitzel with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut plus I ordered a side of red cabbage. Apple strudel for dessert. Also please note service was awesome and friendly.

Last night we went to Gasthaus Bavarian Hunter as an early birthday dinner for my mom. We had a reservation so that we knew we could have a table inside and ready since two of us were coming from out of state. We were seated right away and quickly offered drinks and asked if we wanted any appetizers. Having looked up the menu online, my Mom knew that she wanted to try the Rouladen. She asked if there was any left, and the server graciously went to check. Thankfully, there was a few portions left and she willingly reserved one for my mom while the rest of us considered our dinner options. We wanted to try a variety of dishes so this was a serious consideration! We ordered the Kaze Spatzle and (at the server’s recommendation) the Sausage Plate as appetizers. Both were delicious and I do recommend trying both. Next up came the rolls and a creamy chicken, bacon and potato soup. The soup was delicious, but the rolls were dry and hard. The main course consisted of Rouladen for my mom, Schweinaxe with bread dumplings for my dad, the Bavarian Favorites Platter for my husband, and the Rahm Schnitzel for me. When the food came out, my mom remembered that she wanted to try the Bavarian Potato Salad, but hadn’t remembered in time to order it for dinner. Our server overheard and asked if she still wanted it, because she could go get some for us, and we said yes. My personal favorite was the Raymond Schnitzel, followed by my dad’s pick (the Schweinaxe). He remembered having been to this restaurant as a kid and that was what he had ordered then. He said it was very tasty, but wished it could have been veal instead of pork. My husband liked all of the meats in his favorites platter. He said that the Rahm Puten Schnitzel was his favorite. It was tender and juicy, with a tasty sauce. Second, he liked the the Knackwurst, which had a great smoky flavor. As a whole, we agreed that the Red Cabbage was the best side dish. The potato dumplings were just okay and the bread dumpling was very dense and dry. Unfortunately, neither my mom or I were overly impressed with the Bavarian Potato salad, despite ordering it special. We’ll skip it next time. Since it was a birthday dinner, we ordered two desserts to share. One was a bread pudding with cherries and a Bailey’s glaze, and the other was a lemon and blueberry cake. This choice split the table. My mom and husband loved the bread pudding, whereas my dad and I loved the lemon cake. They were both amazing, but we definitely had our favorites. All in all, we’ll be back. This was some of the better German food we’ve had outside our own family kitchen(s). The restaurant itself was really nice, the people friendly and super helpful, and the outdoor area beautiful. Thank you Gasthaus Bavarian Hunter for an excellent dinner!

Definitely a truly genuine German restaurant in a very rustic atmosphere down to the servers uniforms. Service was spectacular! Waitresses were incredibly courteous and nice, well above and beyond! Place looked packed and they said they may have not gotten my party in without a reservation but came back like 2 minutes later and got us settled without a hitch.

The food is good, not excellent, but good. I have to say, being German I am super picky with my German food. So good is a compliment. They have German decorations and a little bar. An accordion player was entertaining the guests. What I love most about this place is the location. It reminds me of a Waldschänke in the woods, with outdoor seating in the summer.

Property was authentically German (I’ve lived there for 3.5 years) there was a beer garden. The waitstaff was fantastic. I had the jaeger schnitzel and it was delicious the meat was a leaner cut than I prefer in schnitzel BUT followed a good quality traditional recipe. My husband had the walleye and it was the BEST walleye we have ever tasted with homemade tarter sauce. Both kids had chicken tenders and fries with homemade ranch which was delicious. We were seated next to the window over looking the goats and chickens which was perfect for our two boys ages 2 & 4. Has actual German beer as well. Hands down best German food I’ve had in America.
