Grabbed a pound of the famous "Chicken George" while on the way to the Quad Cities. Very lightly breaded chicken tenders with several interesting sauce options. Well worth going out of your way for! The interior of the restaurant is adorable and historic with that great Illinois down home friendly service!

Good meal. Salad was very fresh. Had the chicken George. I mean that's what they are known for so, when in Rome...It is basically chicken strips with a vinegar based sauce. The chicken was lightly breaded and juicy. It was cooked perfectly. I really liked the sauce. I didn't think I would, but it had a nice flavor. Had mashed potatoes as a side (I mean I had a salad so I earned the potatoes 😊) they were good, gravy was very peppery. If you have a chance, stop in, no regrets.

Very good Buffalo chicken George. Our waitress was awesome. However the Mac and cheese and coleslaw was very bland and just not very good. Great experience but sides could taste as good as the main course. Thank you

After picking up a package in Sterling IL for our Daughter we came across the Candlelight Inn on the way home and boy are we glad we did! The building is an old barn which to me is very cool. There was a very short wait to be seated because it was Father's Day and it was very busy. Our waitress Hanna, apologized for the wait and we said it was very short and explained we were newbies to the Candlelight. As busy as they were Hanna welcomed us and explained the menu as we had several questions. With guidance from this fantastic young lady we made our choices. My Wife had Jack Daniels Salmon and after a detailed description I chose sweet and sour George. I am so pleased that Hana had the patience to describe my meal because it was so, so very good! The flavors were bursting with every bite. I highly recommend this dish. My Wife's salmon was melt in the mouth perfection with the added Jack Daniels sauce. Hanna checked on us several times to make sure we were doing ok and brought a coffee refill before I could ask. Now for the desert, a lemon tart/cake with cream cheese frosting! If everything else was bad, which it wasn't, I would return for coffee and this desert. We live a long way from the Candlelight but we are going to make this a regular dining spot. A very warm, comfortable, friendly place to have an excellent meal. The sad news is Hanna has moved on to another job and fills in when She can. This has to be a great loss for this establishment. I recommend you take a drive and visit the Candlestick Inn, I think you will be happy you did and as I, you will return for more excellent meals.

Small town restaurant with homey decorations that include lots of copper knick knacks. The Chicken George is great but menu has lots of choices. Portion sizes are large and costs are very reasonable. One location in Sterling and one in Rock Falls. If you are in the area it is worth a try.

I love it here. Only one issue though, we went last night and there was a family gathering/reunion all around us that we weren't part of. Made us feel quite uncomfortable. As for everything else, it's amazing.
