This place used to be good years ago when i stopped by but not anymore. The rice and beans tasted old and not fresh at all. I am pretty sure the rice is from a box and not even close to being authentic, my son had a black hair inside his tortilla, and the owner is very rude. The plates they serve on are old and look dirty as well. I will never go back there and spend my money at a place like that, i would give this no stars if i could.

Absolutely loved the Tropical frozen margarita with pinã colada and mango.
We shared a chicken, steak and shrimp sizzling fajita with the works. Very tasty.
Our server was efficient, friendly and attentive. **We were able to request the NBA playoffs on the TV while we are! 🏀☘️ We'll definitely be back!

I've eaten here three or four times with a friend who loves this place. The first time I tried it was during the lunch buffet back before COVID. I live 45 minutes away and while we have a fair share of Mexican restaurants we don't have any that offer a buffet so I was excited to try the one here back in 2019 (I think that's when it was). The selection/variety on the buffet was disappointing so I knock them down a star for that.
My friend and I ate here again about two weeks. They aren't offering the buffet anymore but I didn't want it anyway. I tried a taco salad with ground beef, lettuce and a few other toppings. I substituted guac for sour cream and rice for refried beans and was not charged extra. After I had it customized to my liking and it came to me, once I started eating it was THE BEST taco salad I'd ever had and I've been craving it ever since.
So if you want a good taco salad and great service come here!

Spent Cinco de Mayo at El Puerto for dinner. Short staffed and very busy, but everybody working rocked it, big time! Service was great! Steven moved like Sonic the Hedgehog! Food was excellent! And the music made the atmosphere so much fun. Thank you El Puerto for one of our best restaurant experiences in a long time!!

We used to love going to el puerto the food is really good, but sadly they are lacking in customer service. The last time my husband and I went we ordered an appetizer which was forgotten and our waiter was really rude and he was only nice to us after we paid the bill and saw my husband left him a fifteen dollar tip despite his rudeness.

Great food and friendly service. A nice place to stop and eat when passing through the area.

Terrible. I'm appalled at the poor quality that I received from this location tonight. We are from out of town and were told by locals this was the place to go. I walked in, placed my order and asked for the beans in the number 3 to be on the side. They forgot them all together. Being as how we are from out of town, I asked to please get plastic cutlery. We get back to our hotel and there are none. I'm not going to comment on the food but I'm upset that they forgot some of it. My suggestion would be to find mexican elsewhere. I even left a tip for my "to go" service. Smh

I love this place!
I prefer the El Pueetos in Waynesboro but only because I am more familiar with it and Staunton and Waynesboro menus differ a bit.
We always get good food and great service, never a complaint about El Puertos

We were impressed with the service and food, however, we were able to witness late night cleaning at its best! The employees cleaned every inch of every space. It is a great feeling to know that this establishment was so particular about the health requirements of its staff and customers.

Bad service and food. Too much money for nothing. Ruined our day. They forgot our food and that we existed. When we reminded them that we never received our order and when they finally did serve it, our food was cold and missing ingredients. Mine did not seem fully cooked. Since it was pork, that was not a good thing. (My order got thrown out.)Their post about free tshirts etc was misleading. The waitresses stated all the free merchandise were to be given out in the afternoon. When reminded it was afternoon, she stated later afternoon. (Actually that part was funny. )They opened an hour later than posted on their facebook page. I am not going back. (And was not feeling well later.) I suggest Moe's (or anywhere else). Ps.We still tipped. And they may want to remove the dead baby bird by the front door. Oh. They told us they knew they gave us bad service but no apology and no money off our bill. (I find that funny as well.)

Service was terrible tonight. We order 2 cherry bombs and bean dip as an appetizer and after 15 mins of not receiving them had to call another waitress over go check on them. When our waitress came back she told us she didn't speak English so she didn't know what we were ordering. On regular drinks we were never asked for refills until we pulled another waitress to the table to get some.

Charges 18% on top of Bill for tip where we have to ask for drinks over and over.
When asked about it waiter said it is that. This is why they don't work and you have to keep asking for a refill because they know they are getting a tip for nothing.

I have always loved El Puertos until today when I get my food home and take it out two plastic back there is a baby roach sitting on top of my container. I will never eat there again what a waste of $21

Worst Tex Mex I've ever had. The queso is runny like soup. The steak, although the menu says it's off the grill, is clearly stir fried. The tea is clearly made from a mix. And the tortillas have the texture of thin rubber. The "chimichanga" was more like soft flautas with overly salted chicken. Don't even get me started on the service.

I tried it
once
don't need to go back
service was good
but 45 minutes to get pork carnita's
I don't think so, they were very very dry
sad
no star

The "entree tacos" were very disappointing. Nothing like they were described. Took way longer then they should have for what they were. And for $13.00 I would have gotten way better from a food truck. Felt sick after eating there. Don't think I'll be coming back.

Ive always enjoyed the food there and the mgr and staff are always so polite
Jana Brown
Taco salad shell overcooked, fajitas came out smelling burnt, the free chips were horrible. Won't be going back
