Stopped by on a Monday with some colleagues after a meeting. They let us know it the kitchen was backed up but the food came without too much of a wait. The Monte Cristo was pretty good. Also tried the cookie cake which was tasty. Very nice server (maybe Benjamin). Lots of yummy looking baked goods. Nice big menu.

Nice enough restaurant in the heart of beautiful, historic downtown Staunton. Six different dishes ordered, but only one was great; the others were just okay. The beef in my French Dip was dry & flavorless. Perhaps it was a short staff situation or it was a bad night for the cook, but we wouldn't mind giving it another try in the future. The dessert display was big & looked amazing, but we didn't try any, so perhaps that would have been a redeeming feature as far as food. Nice live music band set up & that made it a fun dance-on-the-street-worthy environment.

The older gentleman is was bothered to get me 3 small things of ketchup. My bun was not gluten free as it said it was and for a $15 burger I only got a couple small pieces of onion and the smallest slithers of pickles possible and yet still charged me extra. It comes with maybe 9 fries. I ordered a basket of the chips and they are brown and so hard. If you are looking for good burgers Citizen Burger in Charlottesville is worth the $15. My children won’t even eat them. The customer service here blows and the owner must be cheap. A waste of $30 on a meal that would’ve been better from McDonald’s or Burger King. I have been serving for 7 years and every time I am shocked by the carelessness but this time I won’t be returning.

I arrived a little after 2200 and went straight to the bar so I could order my coffee and cream-cheese and lox bagel to go. The coffee came out quick and hot, not to mention loaded with sugar. (Welcome to the south) I waited 10 more minutes for my cream cheese and lox bagel. The price was $$16 😜! I expected to be happy with my order, I mean who messes up a bagel, right?? It was bad and looked like someone just slapped the ingredients on there!
This is what 16bucks get you, don’t say I didn’t warn you.
The 3 stars is for the experience, everyone was very nice.

I stopped by for a quick breakfast on a Thursday and almost had the place to myself. My server Diamond was excellent and made me feel at home. I have a restricted diet and I was able to order from the entire menu, not just breakfast. Solid American comfort food, and I spent less than I expected for a hearty meal plus leftovers.

Great food, nice atmosphere, friendly staff! What more could you want? Oh yeah, a mimosa with brunch! They've got that too! Pastry/sweets counter looked stocked with goodies for any palate. I'll definitely be back. Check them out y'all!

So disappointed in the service and food Sat evening . When we arrived no one acknowledged us to be seated . After about 8-10 mins we finally was greeted . Waited about 15 mins to get a table . I’m ok with that it’s Sat night and place was slammed . Waitress took our drink order then never came back ... as we watched her at the server station busy talking to staff . She arrived later with our drinks . We ordered appetizers and dinner . She forgot condiments and plates for the appetizers. Top it off our bill was charged for items we didn’t order ask her to fix it twice . Get our ticket she ended up using our CC for the other couple we went to dinner with and used the wrong card for ours ... what a nightmare. We wanted to listen to the band was told 5.00 cover charge by the staff . Get to the door the gentleman said it’s 10.00 person . Over all food was fast food on a nice plate . We watched several tables send food back that evening . Would not recommend this place .

SERVICE VERY-VERY SLOW! We called in lunch at noon was told 10-15 mins. was over a hour standing awaiting. No one rushing, no offer of a soda, no update on how long. there was only 3 tables full had more employee's than customers and still over an hour. Food was good, but don't go there for lunch or if you are on a time limit. I'm not from the area so offering a free lunch for next visit did nothing for me.

I had the Cuban. It was really tasty!!! Our waitresses super nice and very on the ball. I liked the fact that even though there a several tables full it wasn't to loud and you didn't have to shout to be heard. A good beer selection to. Lyndsay Millhizzy

Had the andouille soup, crab cakes, and the red potatoes. Everything was fantastic! The waitress was great, and the atmosphere was relaxed, but also suitable for a nice dinner. Loved it, and we'll definitely be back!

Decided to try this place out while in town on a business trip with my mother. The building had a nice historical look and the interior was warm and welcoming. The wait staff was very friendly and answered our questions without hesitation. We both had Italian and were surprised to learn everything was hand made from the pasta to the the meatballs. The portions were generous and the taste was very authentic. Highly recommended this place to anyone traveling through the area.

Nursing mothers beware!. My family and I stopped here for lunch not long ago. I am a new physician in Staunton and we are enjoying getting to know some of the local restaurants. The food was mediocre, nothing terrible but nothing fancy. I was just expecting to enjoy a quiet lunch and rest my weary feet after walking all over downtown. There were only two other tables with people in the place (it was about 2PM). One was a table with young gentleman at the very far end of the restaurant. So there I sat, enjoying a nice moment with my husband, parents, children while nursing my newborn baby, who, unlike adults, cant wait to be fed until there is no one in sight- when the waitress comes up to me, taps me on the shoulder and says: "we'd like you to cover up please as some of the gentlemen here are offended by you nursing." She came back with a large cloth table napkin and I draped it over the baby so as not to make a scene in front of my parents. Must I mention how embarrassing this situation was? I will mention that the baby woke up and began to scream (do you like to eat under drapes?) and I had to leave to go outside (wouldn't want to bother the gentlemen with my screaming baby). I was happy to leave and I can guarantee that this restaurant will never benefit from my patronage again (nor that of my friends and family.) A little sensitivity goes a long way, and the staff at this place had none.

Disappointed. This restaurant has a Cobb salad on its menu that is without avocados and features little more than a suggestion of blue cheese and bacon. Avoid it. My wife had a "root vegetable" panini that had only one root vegetable on it; after rereading the listing for this special, we realized that most of the items listed were not included on the sandwich but several other, unnamed ingedients, were.

Excellent Food!. On a day trip to Staunton, we stopped here for dinner. This place is awesome. First off, the Spinach and Shrimp Quesadilla appetizer was delicious! I am not a huge fan of shrimp, and I could have eaten that as my entire meal. As promised, the Crab Cakes were amazing, and, in all honesty, everyone in our party was extremely pleased with their meals. The Chicken Parmesan was excellent, and the Four Cheese Ravioli was one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. The prices were reasonable, especially since all meals came with soup or salad. On a side note, the iced tea was also very good. Our waitress was extremely attentive and did a wonderful job of making sure that we had everything we needed. This is a definite must if you visit Staunton!
