Review American Deli - Statesville

Traditionally I love this place. Generous with the fries and food is awesome 9/10 times I order. Bad reviews are from customers who don't understand the industry. Doordash charged you too much not American deli. Geez its like no one can read a receipt. Doordash charges you like 35 bucks in fees. Your order is cheaper if you aren't a bum and go pick up your food personally. Covid protocols and short staffing impact a small business' ability to keep traditional hours. Disappointed tonight that all the chicken in what we ordered was overcooked. Seems like a new cook. Still giving 4 stars because this is the first the food has ever been subpar.

They literally never answer the phone or always closed . I always order before I show up and you can never do that here. They need new management.

I really love their food But they do not know how to run a restaurant They're either closed when they should be open Closing early Or not answering phone calls an hour b4 closing.. I wish they would sale to a person that runs it correctly and on a schedule the owner does not deserve the place..

I don’t know how this place stays in business the food is good but it’s never open no one ever answers the phone it truly amazes me that this location is staying in business.

Anti-American deli, Place is a joke! Have a 4ft by 4ft food ordering/waiting area Supposedly for covid b.s while they make/handle you're food with a mask not over their face. The owner is selfish only worried about them while everyone else rubs Shoulders in the little box, not that I'm worried about covid. I will also add the food isn't bad but way over priced for what you get.

Food is average but way overpriced ! $15 for a six in steak & cheese sub! $55 for 2 subs and 2 small fries through doordash !! No more

Excellent menu, salad was fresh, tenders awesome and they have generous servings of fries.

American Deli by far is the greatest place to eat around Statesville, NC. Me and my husband both ordered different flavored hot wings. Peppered Garlic and Sweet Chili. Both were extremely fantastic! They were hot and fresh. Crunchy on the outside and soft hot chicken on the inside. It was delicious! The price is in the medium range not cheap but not too expensive. You definitely get what you pay for though. It was wonderful. Will come back again VERY VERY soon!
