Sweet Sweet Sues

My father is an avid coin collector so when he turned 60 this past week we knew we needed a special coin themed cake. I had contacted Sue and throughout the process she was kind and responsive. I sent them an image of what I would like and to say they NAILED IT is an understatement. The cake was magnificent (everyone was raving about it) but more importantly it was DELICIOUS. We got chocolate cake with cannoli cream filling and it was very moist and very fresh. Also, the outer layer of the cake, which in these specialty cakes is usually a firm inedible fondant, was soft and incredibly delicious (dying for the recipe!). Cant wait to use her business again in the future for our special events! Highly highly recommend!

Dom was nothing but accommodating and helpful with the design of my wedding cake. I couldn’t have asked for a better designer. His wife made the most moist and flavorful cake which wasn’t too sweet, it was a perfect marble cake and her cannoli filling was fantastic! 5 busts of our dogs were placed on the cake. Everyone who knew our dogs, knew exactly who each dog was. Dom and Sue, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our cake not only delicious but a cake that matched who we are.

If you want a beautifully decorated cake as a show piece then this is the place but on taste it sadly missed the mark. I did get a beautiful cake although I do feel the original picture of what I sent in as far as the topper was nicer, still very happy with the way it looked. Moving on to taste. I specifically asked that the cake not be crazy sweet but when I tasted it, it was a pure sugar rush and a little grainy on top of it from the sugar. This is also the feedback I got from almost anyone who tasted the cake. Sadly, 2/3 of this $13 per serving cake went to waste even though I had more people than the cake was meant for. It was very dense like someone else below had mentioned. Like John below had said they need to improve greatly on customer service because I also did get the feeling like they were doing me a favor by letting me order a cake from them. Would it order again? Only if I wanted it specially for a showpiece and not as a source of dessert. I had a whole candy table for my baby shower so everything else substituted it. Bruno’s definitely hit the spot on pastries.

Ordered my wedding cake @ $9/serving was beautiful but a complete rip off. Asked for chocolate buttercream cream and raspberry preserves. I didn't see any preserves, next day contacted them about it and they told me a thin layer was put on and was absorbed by the cake. For $9/slice it should be oozing raspberries. Sorry super disappointed. Thought I was going to get quality, never mind I'll go to Annadale Bakery or Piece a Cake.

My now-husband and I were looking for a bakery who could accommodate both a nut and dairy free cake for our wedding and we lucked out with Sue's! She and her husband worked with us on the design and ingredients to ensure we'd have a cake that was beautiful, delicious and safe for us to eat. They did not disappoint. Our cake was AMAZING. Not a piece was left! Thanks so much for adding to our day!

please let me start this review by stating I am a business owner myself, so writing a poor review is not something I have done before, I felt the need to express how disappointed I was with a recent cake order, I have had a cake done by them 5 years ago, which was delicious, let me start off by saying when you place the cake order, its like your doing him a favor, NO personality at all, I own a business for 40 years, and thats bad business, then we showed pictures, he simplified and changed the vision, I went along, they know better, this is what they do, well I will tell you what I received, for nearly $1000.00- a four tier cake, that I believed would be ice blue, and a hint of blue inside, I told him my concerns for a blue cake inside, will turn people off and not be eaten, he assured me its great, and a hint, what I received was a white fondant cake, he claimed was "their" ice blue, non ediable decorations, and blue cake inside, DENSE and SWEET, I looked around and all left behind, largest layer was thrown out, I can not believe they would put their name on this cake, and still be in business?, NO real work went into this cake?, How they charge what they do is ridiculous, If the inside was good, may be this review wouldn't be taken place, but that wasn't the case, worst cake I ever had.....pic to show, it's not a worthy $1000- cake nor ice blue,
