Zabrosura

Found Zabrosura on Google! So happy I did! The service was friendly and fast and the food was so good! I had an Al Pastor taco- possibly one of the best I’ve had. We shared the steak and chorizo quesadilla- sooooo good! Tasty and fresh! I had to order the salchipapas- one of my fav things! Delicious! Will absolutely go back!!! I wish I knew about this place sooner!

Ate my desert FIRST !!!! IT WAS AMAZING!!! The food was more than plenty! Was my first time there getting food to go (EMT) this place is as AUTHENTIC as it GETS!!! The desert was FANFREAKINGTASTIC Flan and this moist round sponge like cake that tested like rum with a hint of eggnog.. was delicious!!!

Let me start by saying officially that I don't want to write this review. I don't want anyone knowing about this place. I don't want to go there on a Tuesday or Thursday night, and see there's an hour wait. Selfishly, I wish to keep this to myself. But I can't do that, not if there's any justice to effort done right. Rene, and his mother? They do it right. So I stumbled upon this restaurant because my girl and I were craving authentic Mexican. The reviews were very good, and I was thrilled by the Mexican/Peruvian blend of influences. First, I was running late. So my girl was there by herself, and ordered a sangria. When I joined her, she said, "finally, a good glass of sangria. I have a good feeling about this place." To her, and rightly so, most restaurants don't know how to do a simple thing well. They always over compensate by making them too sweet. The mom makes it herself, and it's perfect. This seemed to set the tone for the whole meal. What I mean by that is simply good food, with smart flavor combinations. The natural flavors of the meat and the vegetables, with just the right amount of sauce worked perfectly. At no point did either of us say something was overdone, or wasn't done well enough. It was perfect. The absolute succulence of the tender beef, the firm shrimp, or the fresh fish tacos was better than I've had anywhere. You just don't expect what you get. We had gotten 4 different ones (2 were fish), and to recreate what I experienced in words, would be doing a disservice to Zabrosura. I never have dessert, but I had to try the Peruvian flan. Exquisite. Simply put, this is a must eat on Staten Island, and I hope this place has a long, successful future. There is so much more to try, and I can't wait. This review is about the food, and the food alone. And from what I and my girlfriend experienced, this place deserves all of the praise it receives. Well done, Zabrosura!

I've lived walking distance from this place for years, but never tried it until yesterday. What a mistake - so much more time that I could have been enjoying the great food. We did takeout, but even so, we could tell that everything was very fresh. Food was wonderfully tasty and portions were extremely generous. I'll be ordering from here again, for sure.
