Review Jamdung Restaurant And Bar - Staten Island

Smileyne Charleston
First time here service was very good. The woman suggested really great drinks. Definitely try the raspberry lime Jamdung beverage. I had the curry goat roti really good and the serving size to the roti and oxtail dish is more than enough for one person. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with vibrant Island colors. Definitely highly recommended. And they DELIVER!! :)

Amazing! This food doesn't fall short of the delicious flavors of the Caribbean. Everything was great. We had the Rasta Pasta which had fresh veggies and white coconut sauce , Tostones brushetta with ackee and salted fish which was the BEST, and callaloo spring rolls. We also tried a veggie patty (which was on point), and had a couple homemade ginger beers too. I've been trying to stay on the alkaline vegan and vegetarian side lately, so this was a real cheat treat for me. Everything was great. I think I'm comfortable saying that it's the best food I've had in Staten Island, and some of the best Jamaican food I've ever had. It did take a little longer than we thought to get our food, maybe because we were intending to just pick something up, but there definitely was LOVE in that food. The sweet lady that helped us told me that we could call it in and pick it up if we'd like also. Great work. The place was beautiful too. The colors, the music, and the great philosopher Bob Marley on the wall. Made my Saturday

Very delicious food and excellent service. The place is very clean and very attractive on the inside. They play reggae while you and your company can relax, converse and have a nice meal. Parking may be limited.

Very clean environment to dine in. This resteraunt also provides an intense dynamic menu not just geared towards Jamaicans but Carribbean people in general. I was not impressed with their front of house staff, that needs tidying up. My last visit to Jamdung 04/29/ 2018, saw them hosting a small catered dinner for a couple celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. The decor was exceptional. Highly recommend.

Great place, great food, i order here frequently. absolutely no complaints except for one thing or person. The lady that answers the phone and takes orders is kinda rude and short. I understand it goes with the tradition of Jamaican restaurants to have a rude server but I shouldn't be nicer than the person who I'm giving my money too. I'm sure she's a nice lady and its nothing personal but it can rub a customer the wrong way. Either way I'll still continue to support this restaurant. Keep up the good food.

I've ordered different dishes from Jamdung several times since they've been open (my favorite is Curry Goat), and I have yet to be disappointed. Every dish I've tried is delicious, the restaurant is nice and clean, the prices aren't bad and the staff is very friendly. I honestly have nothing bad to say about Jamdung and I really, really hope they continue to do well because we need them on Staten Island. Some of us don't enjoy driving all the way to Brooklyn or Queens for authentic Caribbean food!!

Delicious chicken and beef patties, wings and curried goat. The seafood stew was pretty good, but not my favorite. Ginger beer was good and quite strong, but not fizzy and a bit too sweet for my taste. Sorrel was excellent!

I love the vibe! My husband and I sat at the counter bar while the Tunes were playing. Relaxed feeling .....surprisingly after ordering an appetizer, they brought us hot off the frying pan, a basket of fried green plantains and they were crisp and delicious! But when the appetizer arrived, my tostones bruschetta, which had akee and saltfish atop of 5 green plantains, it was incredibly scrumptious! We ordered the sorrel drink which was divine........and for my entree, I ordered the curried goat while my husband ordered the oxtail. The meat was so soft and tender which was phenomenal.....it should never ever be chewy! The rice was in its own dish and the portions were quite enough. We were totally satisfied! I ended up taking home some of my rice because I couldn't fit it........and my husband too!!! I highly recommend this place to anyone craving authentic Jamaican food! We will be back most definitely with the kids! Thank you, Jamdung!

There aren’t a lot of Caribbean restaurants on Staten Island. This place is definitely the place to get your Island fix. The food is amazing. And it’s freshly made so, just anticipate a bit of a wait. The staff - attentive and pleasant! Try to the tostones bruschetta with the home made Fruit Punch.

I had a birthday dinner for my fiancé here and it was amazing!! The staff was so gracious, they made him a huge three layer cake( red velvet, vanilla and chocolate) they were attentive even called before to ask me what colors I wanted on the cake! and the music in the background was great! My mother in law to be loved the vibe and everything so much that she left a raving review as well!! Thank you guys again! so happy to have you guys on the island!!

Now this is an inviting taste. Stopped over to see this colorful new Caribbean colored restaurant and was quickly greeted by tasty fried plantain I've been to many Caribbean restaurants in the past but this is the first time that I was treated to this kind of greet. The food you ask? Well, the taste buds in my mouth can't describe the exploding flavors that Chef Mark has given them. The food was absolutely delisch and authentic just like I had back in Montego Bay, Jamaica last winter. The atmosphere of this restaurant with its colorful Jamaican colors and background reggae music does it all. This may have been the first time for me at this place but not the last. Highly recommended.

Classy Book Worms Book Club had our launch meet and greet this evening at Jamdung. The food was fantastic, it was tasty and the portions were just right. The atmosphere was great, we made the most noise because, we were having a great time. Can't wait to go back again and again. Make it a point to go to Jamdung, you won't be disappointed.

I love the fact there is a Jamaican restaurant on the island, and the food taste so GOOD!! The presentation of the meal was absolutely beautiful. As a fellow Jamaican, I'm very particular about "our" food and I was not disappointed at all. I'm definitely a recurring customer. Big up yuhself!

The portions are large and filling and it's easy to develop favorites. My favorite is the curried goat, while my husband loves the oxtails. We were their very first customers and will keep coming back. Excellent food, wonderful people, what could be better?

So glad to finally have an excellent Jamaican restaurant on Staten Island. I closed my eyes and made lots of MmmmmMMMmm sounds as I ate the delicious oxtail. Will be back to try the Sunday brunch and and Jerk Pork. The homemade Fruit Punch reminds me of my grandaunt's. Just delicious. I will be back!!

The was a delightful surprise. Our neighborhood just keeps getting better and better. This food was DELICIOUS. We had jerk chicken, jerk pork sandwich, beef patties, sweet plantains(cooked perfectly), & the creamy delicious Rasta Pasta. We'll be going back again soon.

Ordered takeout from Jamdung tonight. Customer service was great. Oxtails delicious, conch fritters amazing. Chicken soup just like momma just to make. Rum raisin bread pudding soo goood. My daughter had the jerk pork and loved it. I had to call and thank the manager. Jamdung thank you for the great food and bringing some Caribbean flavor to Staten Island.

Rasta pasta was not good.no seasoning & only 3 or 4 pieces of chicken on a bone.
