Pollo Tropical

This new location across from Tyrone Mall is amazing! The staff is very upbeat & friendly, and everything is very clean and we'll organized. Absolutely delicious! Chicken, ribs, salads, wraps, vegetarian build a bowl etc.. & sooo many good side items to choose from!!! The menu has lots of fresh, healthy, delicious food options that you can't find anywhere else. I'm excited to try a new menu item every time I'm in the area! The pies are delicious too!

There must be some standard to which we carry and commit ourselves. This establishment drains me of any hope for a bright future. Somewhere just below Checkers and Churches Chicken in terms of customer satisfaction. I've eaten better food out of a dumpster in fact. Two, hopelessly reheated and over processed stars.

I was so excited about this place opening but my first time here makes me not want to try it again. I ordered fried Yuca and a tropichop with yellow rice & vegetables, mojo pork, black beans, corn, and onions. This is my go-to. I waited in the drive-thru line for quite some time wondering why it was taking so long. The lady at the register (who was super sweet) mentioned how it’s her running register and the meals and she did apologize for the wait time. I paid, she handed me the bag, I saw that my yuca and bowl was in there and headed home. When I got home and opened the tropichop and something spilled all over me. To my surprise, it was mushy and full of liquid, as if the vegetables & meat weren't drained completely before being put in the bowl. I’ve NEVER had a bowl like this one. Usually the rice is super fluffy & the black beans drained and placed delicately on top (like the stock image I attached below). I did find the phone number to call and let them know, and they will comp me a bowl next time I go in. The fried yuca was good though!

I order from this location often, as it Is a healthier fast food alternative. This location gets the order wrong 50% of the time. They also serve smaller portions of chicken for the price of a larger order the later in the day it gets. (Ex: tropichop chicken bowl with the amount of chicken that is in the small order for the price of the large. I have now started ordering the small bowl as it is the same except for less rice) today I ordered pollo bites and I received a dark chicken leg at the drive through....with my receipt stating pollo bites. I feel they give you what they have and not always what you order hoping you will drive away. Luckily experience has taught me to check every order. I understand mistakes happen but this location seems to mess up every other order. Good food for the price but check your order before leaving. We used to live in Tampa and the Pollo Tropical locations were much more efficient and friendly.
