The Skyway Jacks restaurant opened in 1976, in a marina a few miles north of the old Skyway bridge in St. Petersburg, Florida before its collapse when it was hit by the cargo vessel Summit Venture in 1980. Today the restaurant location is further north onto 34th Street due to lack of parking at the marina and the main road that connected to them was closed to only construction traffic to rebuild the bridge. It took seven years to rebuild the bridge, so the move of the Skyway Jacks business and many others was necessary to survive.
The restaurant in the old and new location has been a favorite to locals and through word of mouth to the tourists for classic southern breakfast favorites. It is not a hard restaurant to find as you drive down 34th street, just look for the large rooster, and the cartoon drawings of Porky Pig and others on the windows. The pig is the main theme as there are many pork items on the menu and the servers with a ‘non-pc’ pig on their t-shirts.

Great breakfast diner! Our meals came out fast and they were very good! I recommend the corned beef or hobo hash. We will definitely be back to try more. It's definitely a "greasy spoon" joint but the food and service were both super good.
Hobo Hash....mmm mmm Good!!!
Great place, great vibe, great food.
So you might want to be patient as the place is small and the crowd is always around but you will not be disappointed!
Quick tasty fresh what else could you want. Oh I forgot really reasonable $$$
I tried it for breakfast today and it was pretty good. I ordered the meal with 2 eggs, sausage, potatoes and biscuit which was $5 something, then asked for a side of sausage gravy and had coffee as well and my bill was $13 with just over 20% tip. The food was good and service was good but the food was barely warm. The place was loud, cramped, crowded and could use a good cleaning. I think I'd be better off to go on a weekday morning when they have awesomely priced breakfast specials.
Best Hearty Breakfast. This wins my best hearty breakfast spot hands down. Everything is great from the blueberry pancakes to the scrapple. Ample portions. There's even scrambled eggs and brains for anyone adventurous. All of the staff are wonderful and chipper. You can tell that management makes this a good place to work. My family has been going here for the past eight years and seeing many of the same workers. Go there if you want to pig out and be happy.
Getting My Favorite Breakfast. Scrapple is not your typical fare, but if you grew up in the Philadelphia area, it probably is and you can get it here. They cook it perfectly..add your favorite kind of egg and some home fries and you are good to go. The decor' is all about pigs, they are everywhere, the people who work here are friendly and very accommodating.
Lunch is pretty good too, burgers are done just right and the fries are also cooked to perfection.
If you are looking for a 5 star meal, then don't come here, but if you are looking for a good meal, done in a home style way, then this is your place.
Breakfast not for the faint of heart!. This food is hearty, home cookin' at it's best. Yeah, it's sometimes sloppy and slow - much like true Southern downhome food. Oh, man, those breakfast plates are something else. This is definitely not the place to go if you're watching calories or fat. Everything is layered in butter and gravy and obese happiness.
Skyway Jack's is one of the most unique breakfast places. Their potatoes aren't from some box or just a bunch of potatoes thrown together. The menu has something for everybody and it is all good. Try one of their corn muffins split and heated up on the grill then with a little touch of butter or spread....oh yeah.
