The Cafe Alcazar was a dining experience....A unique venue..lunch in the bottom of a swimming pool...The service was terrific. Our waiter was professional, helpful and friendly. The menu is eclectic. The Cafe has something for every taste. I thought the clam chowder was great. Everyone at our table enjoyed there food. I would recommend it for lunch. The hours are limited from 11 to 4.

Hands down the best meal we had in while in St. Augustine! Red Snapper was cooked to perfection accompanied by excellent rice and veggies, followed by out of this world homemade cheesecake. Prices were extremely reasonable on top of which they gave us a 10% discount for having visited the Lightner Museum. Knowing we were dining in what used to be the world's largest indoor swimming pool made it even more enjoyable!

The Café Alcazar was once known as the worlds largest swimming pool in its day. Now empty, some genius decided to use it as a dining location Enjoyed lunch with friends and would definitely recommend that visitors to St. Augustine, Florida try to have a meal here.

In my experience, the restaurant rarely lives up to the hype. This restaurant is an exception. The 3 of us in my party all got different items and we were all blown away. I could write quite a bit about the great food, service, and unmatched ambience, but I'd just be repeating what has already been said. Don't miss this restaurant!

A must see (and dine) place while visiting Saint Augustine. The venue is steeped in history. It was a home of Henry Flagler. The restaurant is actually in the old swimming pool. The architecture is amazing. Make reservations well in advance of your visit and plan to eat slowly and take it all in. I imagine an event here would be beautiful!

I hadn't been here in years but heard great things. They were true! I had a lovely lunch with 3 friends. I ordered the soup & half sandwich combo and both were outstanding. The waiter was wonderful, and the guitarist played a wide variety of music that was loud enough to enjoy but soft enough not to interfere with conversation. The food prices were very reasonable for the portions, the flavors, and the ambiance of the cafe. It was cool, so if you tend to get chilly in restaurants, you might bring a light jacket or shawl. Lunch here was a treat!!

I brought my beautiful bride here for our fifth anniversary. This place had been on her (local) bucket list and we lucked out getting reservations just two weeks out. There are only about a dozen tables and the menu seems simple on the surface, mostly sandwiches, soups and salads. The atmosphere and history in the place is amazing and the food exceeded expectations in quality and quantity. You definitely get your money's worth and since the restaurant is in the deep end of a concrete swimming pool, it is quite a cool break from the heat of Florida. A great lunch date for any occasion.
