My first time stopping here..Literally the best chili I have ever had!! So delicious..I want another bowl! I ordered a hot dog and small bowl of chili to go. You can pick what spicy level you want and I got touch. Mix of medium and hot. Service was friendly and fast. I saw someone else getting a chili burger and now I know what I am getting next time.

Chill is one of my favorite foods. I've been trying it all over the country and making multiple recipes at home. This is one of my favorites. The "hot" level is perfect for me and my wife likes mild. If you get one bowl you'll also get a huge helping of oyster crackers as well. This is a great value for your money at lunch. If you're feeling adventurous go for the Firebrand chili. It's hot but has great flavor too.

My son brought a container of Fire Brand back from Springfield so we in Shorewood could try it. It was hot but not as hot as I expected, but the remarkable thing about the chili is the amount of oil in it. I don't know where it comes from, but the oil congeals to a thick grease on your spoon. As one whose career was involved in the manufacture and use of lubricants, I am fascinated by the quantity of oil you get in each bowl, and the tenacity of this oil to stick to metal. A tribologist's dream come true.

Simply the best chili around. The ability to get 6 levels of spice is awesome. Putting the ingredients in the bowl per order allows this and infinite variations on their product. Friendly staff and a super clean restaurant. Our family drives over an hour from St. Louis to eat there. This visit was at the request of my 9 year-old daughter for her birthday. Also...this Mefford guy below with the 1 star review is on drugs.

This is the place to get great chili in Springfield. Always fast friedly service. Always spotlessly clean. A special treat my last visit, Marianne Rogers the former owner and daughter of the founder was helping out. Great to see her and visit old times. Oh did I mention GREAT chili.

This place is very good, amazing chili, for my fellow Texans(YES you can get the chili WITHOUT beans). I had the chili cheese burger, it was so good. And my husband had a bowl of the mild chili(tasty but no heat) and the firebrand chili(it was so tasty but very hot) if you finish a bowl of firebrand you get your name on the wall. The staff is supper friendly and the prices are cheap so if you want you can try several things or levels of chili. If you are in Springfield, IL or just passing by please stop and check this place out, it's worth it.

Awesome food, awesome prices. Stopped in with the wife on a whim, ended up really enjoying everything. The chili is flavorful, not tomato based, unique without being overly spicy.(unless you want it) Make sure you try the Firebrand if you're a spice fan!🔥 Tamales were dang good as well! Give it a try!
