Favorite Indian Restaurant. Staff are amazing and professional. Food is authentic and wonderful. Love that they have a shop there to buy spices and ingredients. Tikka Masala is my favorite.

First place I tried Indian food and definitely my favorite. Staff is super polite, helpful and friendly. You definitely won't leave hungry. Highly recommended!!!

One of my first experiences with Indian food and I loved it. All the other places I have tried are just missing something. I love the buffets. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is terrific. I get the house special as it gives a great variety or they have a dinner for two that is more than enough. Even two of us take leftovers home. They are family run and operated and also do a festival of lights that is spectacular. Look for them on Facebook for their specials!

Delicious as always. I really like how they give you the option of how spicy you want your entrees. Medium is just right for us. The staff is always helpful but not too intrusive. Excellent choice for Indian food!

We just came from here and I have to say, this place is so good! I never leave reviews on anything, but this just needs to be done. The staff was really polite and amazing, the restaurant has a really nice presentation, but man oh man the food is so amazing. Everything I tried was delicious and even though it was close to closing, the food was still fresh and delicious. They were still bringing out fresh naan. I know some people might be worried about the spiciness of this food, but Gem of India tends toward the milder side of things, while still giving it a nice kick. I can't wait to come back here!

Disclaimer: review based on one visit. My wife and I visited the "Gem of India" for their Sunday afternoon buffet, on a very hot day in June 2018. The food was okay, but not exceptional, and the restaurant was so uncomfortably warm that we ended up leaving early, just to get some relief. While I love a good Indian buffet... that food, in particular, does not pair well with blistering summer heat and weak air-conditioning (in my opinion). We may or may not visit again in the future.

It was wonderful experience being here today. I love the food, great ambiance, great service. I tried the buffet during weekdays and over the weekend as well. Great variety to try, I love the vegan options. I will definitely come back and bring more friends and families. I recommend this place, keep up the good work!

I go here every year on my birthday and every other chance I get. I leave stuffed and happy. I've been eating here for over a decade and other Indian places come and go, but their food is constantly fresh and delicious. I will say that I do prefer to order from the menu, but that's just because I know what I want.

Running errands after only a green smoothie. Saw Gem of India in Springfield, MO and popped in. No buffet at dinner so decided to order special combination dinner. Lovely server noted I was cold and brought me a complimentary chai tea. Their remodel is much better than before. So pleased with the experience from start to finish. Only suggestion I have is to invest in soup spoons for the lovely soups.

I have been a dine in customer for years, and the food is delicious and the service has always been good. Today I ordered carry out via grubhub for the first time, and I will never do it again. I spent over $40 on this order, and I waited over an hour total. I arrived 35 minutes after my order was placed (which I was told twice it would be ready in 20-30 minutes) and was told they never received it but it would be ready in 10-15 minutes. I had to change 2 items after over 30 minutes of waiting, both of which were less expensive items than what I had originally ordered because they had run out of them, and was offered NOTHING to correct their wrong, except for the owner telling the waitress to give me $3 out of her tip money. She offered me $5, but I refused to take it as it wasn’t at all her fault, but seriously? $3 measly dollars after changing my order twice and waiting over an hour??? That $3 barely covered the price difference between the new dishes I had to order. The only reason I rated it a 3 is because the food is good, and dine in is a different experience. What if this had been my first experience? I would certainly never come back. I’m very disappointed. This wasn’t even a meal for my own family, so I didn’t even get to enjoy the deliciousness �, and that family was left waiting for their meal for over an hour. If you want delicious Indian food, choose dine in and save yourself the trouble.

Favorite place to eat in Springfield. Best buffet I've ever had! Their chai tea is top notch, and I've never found anything on the menu that wasn't delicious!

Went to the Diwali festival and spent $30 on the tiniest buffet I ever saw. They had a cash bar in a desperate room that you had to wait in line for and the were out of a lot of the ingredients for their special drink menu. Definitely not worth the money.

Easily, hands-down one of the best Indian places I've ever been. Everything's great, especially the lamb/mutton/goat dishes. If you're vegetarian like my sister Lauryn, more than enough options there as well. In my top three favorite restaurants I ever have eaten at. :)

We’ve been here a few times for the vegan buffet. Everything we tried was flavorful, fresh and delicious. All of the staff seem to be friendly and helpful. This is now one of our Springfield favorites!

I have known the owners and their family for many years and I just adore all of them. They always treat us like family and the food is splendiferous! Chai to me means "Happiness" Tea!

Tonight I ordered off uber eats and my food was not extra spicy and there was pasta noodles in my chicken biryani? Terrible experience.

My wife and I had the lunch buffet on a Saturday. It was a good value in terms of quality and price. A little more variety would be a welcome improvement.

I have eaten at a wide variety of Indian restaurants across Canada and the U.S. I have been impressed with the gracious attitude and kind service that characterizes Indian restaurants. This attitude helps make for a very pleasant dining experience. The atmosphere at the Gem of India is not gracious or kind. While the food is tasty, I choose not to eat here. Fortunately, there is another Indian restaurant here in Springfield with gracious hospitality, great food, and reasonable prices.
