A Q Chicken House

This place is beautiful on the inside if you like stepping back in time. It has a great selection of food at reasonable prices. It's not just chicken but the BBQ boneless Chicken was delicious. They have batter dipped fries that taste like a baked potato. I highly recommend ordering them. If chicken ain't your thing then order the fried catfish. They bring you hot fresh buns and butter. I suggest putting honey on them as well. Then order Ice cream for desert. My only complaint is that the Mac n cheese was not that good but I still ate it. It's over 75 years old and right across from the gas station.

A traditional favorite for fried chicken! They serve traditional pan fried and also offer a pan fried with a ‘smoked grill’ flavor. I’ve had both and I can’t pick which one I like better. Just keep in mind that pan fried means the outside crust is NOT crispy although the crust has a scrumptious flavor. If you are someone who orders the extra crispy type of fried chicken you may not be a fan of this style. Check hours because as of December 2021 they are struggling for help just like many other businesses. Expect to wait longer and expect service to be slower. Not their fault.

We wanted to try something that we had not tried before so went to try AQ Chicken House. The food we got has good taste however the place look old and outdated. When we got there, people were smoking right outside by the door. I also that the food was pricy for what it was. Lastly, they did not have some of the food we wanted to try.

Good food - the sampler platter has got to be one of the best values I've ever seen at a restaurant around here. Lots and lots of fried goodness. My chicken was a bit more burnt than I would have liked it to be, but it was still a good place to go to. Recommended by a coworker and if I really want some good chicken, I don't see any harm in coming back and helping support local :) The environment is interesting, and obviously dated, but hey, it's a neat piece of local history and also gives the place some character imo.

The best, crispiest, most perfect fried chicken I've had in ages. The skin was crunchy perfection while the meat was moist with flavor. Mashed potatoes and gravy were heavenly. This is pure American goodness. A place with history that still takes pride. My server was a jewel and was excellent. Go and help keep family dreams alive.

Chicken was just okay, sides were terrible! Best part of the meal was the rolls of all things. The waitress was terrific and attentive( highlight of the meal), but the decorum was dated and restaurant was dirty overall. Can see it was probably a great place in its hey day, but it appears to be on life support now, very sadly. 3 stars due to the waitress being very nice and attentive or it would've been a 2 star based upon the food and condition of the restaurant.
