Booth seating is lumpy and uncomfortable. Patio is there but not available. Egg drop soup is good but very small portion with the combo meal. Fried wontons are good. No chopsticks at table. No Sriracha or other spicy sauce available. Sweet and sour pork was tasteless, but large serving. Shrimp served on steamed rice was overcooked and crunchy. Fried egg roll was OK. This place needs some serious cleaning and paint! The little glass balls decorating the "bar" area (there is no bar) look like they haven't been dusted off in 10 years. The staff never smiles. The TV was tuned to infomercials with no sound. There is no music, just the sounds coming from the kitchen. I didn't hate it, but I don't like it enough to return.

A friend brought some salt & pepper chicken wings to a kickback last summer and they were fire! He said he got them from New China...so within a week, and 3 more times that month I was at New China getting my wing fix, which go great with the house fried rice (although they're a little stingy with the shrimp). If I dine in, I get a glass of plum wine with it. I haven't had anything else on the menu because all I care about are the wings...may this place never shut down. Oh, one more thing - if you place a carry-out order and you know it's gonna take a while, Bancroft Bar is directly across the street...or you can wait in the car, whatever.

Salt and pepper wings are so good. Absolutley delicious. Best thing I've ever had in my life. Good enough to ignore the shade from staff. To clarify; Staff = bunch of jerks. Salt and pepper wings = so worth it. Will return. 10/10

The food is authentic and it tastes good, but I hear the microwave a bit too much as they "cook" in the back. I hope this isn't a kitchen nightmare. They could use a makeover some day too. I'm giving this place one more chance just because I'm craving Chinese food this bad!

They have the bomb salt and pepper wings, don't have to drive to National City anymore to get some. Their shrimp fried rice was good as well, just needed more shrimp. The people are super nice and my order didn't take long for them to make.

I don't normally leave bad reviews: the Thumper principle. But this was absolutely the worst food I have eaten in any restaurant in my life, Chinese or otherwise, and people really need to steer clear. We ordered and took home three dishes. All were almost inedible. How do you screw up Hot and Sour soup? It was the only thing we could eat, only because it had no flavor at all. Sichuan Beef was not in the least spicy and had an off flavor that I couldn't put my finger on. It was also over 50% green bell peppers. Those and the onions and carrots were 100% raw. Not a wok mark on any of them. They were obviously added to the brown, goopy, gravy-drenched beef at the last second. Our third dish was Beef Chowmein. Equally disgusting.

My wife and I ate lunch here. It was our first visit and we have not raced back. I ordered orange chicken. While the food tasted okay and the portions were good, I couldn't stop thinking how much fry-oil-saturated breading I was eating. Perhaps that's to be expected at a Chinese restaurant! It was also quite empty there. ONE other diner was in the room. The staff member / waitress was nowhere to be seen after she delivered our food. All that said, we visited as a referral from a friend. He and his wife went to New China and SHARED a $7 lunch special entree and he claimed they had left overs. Give it a shot.
