I stopped in for breakfast while on a motorcycle road trip/vacation. The breakfast was pretty good, but that's about the only good thing I can say about the place. The place wasn't busy when I was there, but the cleanliness and service could have been much better. The table was sticky, some of the silverware I was given was seriously dirty, and when I politely asked for a new spoon I was given a 'look'. After my food was served, no one came by to ask how the food was, refill my coffee, or even bring the check even though I was there the better part of an hour. I can't say I would recommend this place based on my experience.

I have been here several times and enjoy the food. However, the service has always been lacking. I've never complained because the good food always outweighed the horrible service. Today was the straw that broke the camel's back. My daughter, 2 granddaughters and I went there about 10:20 am to get breakfast and took a seat in the booth closest to the front door. They had already erased the breakfast special and put up the lunch special. No problem since we all knew (except me) what we were going to order. After 10 minutes of sitting and not one person acknowledged we were there, I got up and walked to the front and grabbed myself a menu. We sat and watched group after group of "regulars" come in, who apparently the waitresses knew, get served while we continued to sit there and be ignored. After 20 minutes (by this time we still hadn't even got our drink order taken) a waitress finally came. We have had her before and it's never a pleasant experience. She is rude and acts like our very presence there is a nuisance to her and keeping her from her next cigarette. The sour, aggravated look on her face just screams "I hate people". If she smiled, I believe it would cause her physical pain. So, in her typical, unfriendly manner, she comes up to our table, slams down our silverware and asks sharply "you know what you want?" We began the order by asking for chicken and bisquits and waffles for the girls who knew this was what they wanted before we left the house. The lady, with no apology or explanation said we can't make waffles today. And, even though they serve breakfast all day, because it was now past 10:30 am, the only comparable item (pancakes) were no longer being served as that is the ONLY breakfast item they quit serving at 10:30. I made the comment that we've been waiting 20 minutes and the one thing we came for is not being served and the chick snatched up the silverware and stomped back behind the counter and started mouthing about us to the other waitress. So.... We left and went to Huddle House. I'm not a fan of most chains and the Huddle House here is notorious for bad service. Our waitress was new. I mean like "her first day on the job" new. We were one of the first customers this girl had EVER served and the service she gave was outstanding. Acknowledged as soon as we came in, had menus almost immediately after sitting down and drink order within the first 2 minutes. A girl with an hour under her belt was so far above and beyond the Rise n Shine waitress with years under her belt that there is NO comparison.

Best breakfast spot in town. The food is fresh, delicious, and inexpensive. Service is good and the pancakes are the best you'll ever have. I will be visiting again and again.

This busy little local hot spot never disappoints. I occasionally treat myself to a meal there and oh what a treat it is. The diner staff is always attentive, friendly, and helpful.
