Sparta Classic Diner

It was a beautiful day out so we opted to sit outside on their deck. Service was nice and always made sure we were tended to. Ordered mozzarella sticks and spinach & artichoke dip for an app and for our main my husband ordered French Toast and I had the Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos. He enjoyed his meal. I did not think the shrimp Tacos were that banging. But the best part was the red beans & rice and plantains that accompanied the tacos. Meh, but whatarey'gonnado 🤷🏽‍♀️ but due to the wonderful server I wasn't upset, I left full and not aggravated. If we're ever back up that way, we may give it another try.

Would go again - This diner is a gem in a quiet neighborhood in comparison to suburbs closer to NYC. Sparta is a very relaxing town and Lake Mohawk near this diner is such a good R&R place to visit. In addition, you have this diner that has many menu items fit for foodies. My friend and I ordered the buffalo mac and cheese, southwest chicken sandwich, and BBQ burger. Gosh...all 3 of these foods were delicious! They have so many other unique foods and their milkshake looks insane...given the amount of food we ordered, we had to skip it. The buffalo Mac and cheese was some of the best I ever had. Creamy but cheesy and it did not get dried up as most mac and cheeses do. Interior is very clean for a diner. It has a old school but modern vibe to it. Parking lot has ample spots. Visit Lake Mohawk after a good meal at this diner.

$16 for this tiny sandwich with no fries. $10 for this side of Mac. They also charge for side sauces. This place is the WORST, happy to write this review. I lived in Sparta for years and would come here before I realized how over priced and gross the food is. Ordered for the first time in months and I Will never be ordering from here again.

I ordered a quinoa salad with no cucumbers. The waitress asked if I want a protein or anything added I asked if they could add chick peas (wich they did for + $1). The salad was good, not great and oddly enough the quinoa salad had no quinoa in it. My friend and I were in a bit of a hurry so I didn't say anything as I didn't want to have to wait for something else to come out. The food did arrive very quickly.
