Review Carolina Kitchen & Bbq Co - Sparks

A good representation of Eastern North Carolina BBQ, although it's not whole hog chopped. The Collards, Sweet Tea & Peach Cobbler were on point. I was surprised there was no Banana Pudding, but I do have a recipe if y'all are interested. We'll definitely back when we're back in Sparks.

Overall: B+ Layout & decor: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Food quality: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cleanliness: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Customer service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Timeliness: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Bathroom: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review: Had the Carolina Sampler & it was REALLY GOOD! Boneless chicken nuggets, 2 fried chicken pieces, 2 ribs, 1 piece of fried fish, & fries w/ lemon. The ribs & lightly breaded fried chicken were AWESOME!!!! The decor is hometown kinda feel which I love. The staff were friendly & food TAT was fast. This is definitely a place I recommend! Will absolutely come back for some BBQ.

I LOVE bbq and my boyfriend and I wanted to try a new spot. We ordered this through Doordash for lunch and portions were good but food was eh. I got the pulled pork combo plate and boyfriend got brisket fries. My plate came with pulled pork and 2 sides and corn bread, I got mac and cheese and fries as sides. I ate the corn bread and it was ok, I think boxed kind taste better. The fries were also ok, they were krinkle cut and they gave a good amount. Mac and cheese was really creamy but no real flavor, it didn't have much taste to it. I love pulled pork and get it at almost every bbq spot I go to. This one made me loose my appetite after a few bites. It had a weird smell. I grew up around many dairy farms and for some reason the smell of this pulled pork made me feel like I was at the farm with the smell of the cows. I tried to keep eating thinking it was me but I let my boyfriend smell and he said the same thing. Best thing on this plate was the pickes!! Boyfriend's plate he said was OK, it was the same krinkle cut fries, loaded with cheese, sour cream on the side and the meat. Most places I've had the meat chopped up and spread over the fries, not sure how most people get their brisket but they gave full slices of brisket just laid on top of the fries and drizzled with the cheese. Other places have given it chopped or brisket tips. Definitely would not be going back to this bbq spot.

Seemingly way off the beaten path is a lil bit o' Southern Comfort, way out West. Walking through the door the vibe and decor equally give you the sensation of walking through a portal leading right into the Belly of Dixie. With plenty meat, deep fried selections, traditional ingredients, and sides found primarily in many a Southern dish, the Sauce (in particular the Moonshine BBQ sauce) is the Belle of the Ball. It is utterly DELICIOUS and I literally sampled it on every single one of the items of my lunch selection. Down home, friendly, attentive, and gallant staff members ensure you are well taken care of and satisfied. Even ole Triple D host Guy Fieri gave his two cents on just how great the food here is. Do yourself a favor and mosey on down there to see for yourself.

Overall great place. Stumbled upon this restaurant from a locals recommendation. The wings were huge and well made. The Ribs were top notch with their own BBQ sauce. The sampler is a massive plate of food. If your in Reno or the surrounding area. Check this place out.

Great BBQ! Love the carolina style sauce (they have alternatives). The pulled pork was melt in your mouth. But you know a good BBQ place when they have good sides. The Mac n' cheese was creamy and cornbread was sweet and delicate.

I'm from Washington, DC and thought this was the Carolina Kitchen in my area. Anyhow, all I got was greens and cornbread. It was nasty...its not like the east coast. Haven't found food on the west coast yet thats good tasting southern soul food on the east coast and south. 🤷🏾‍♂️🤴🏿 5 stars because somebody might like it but its not for taste buds.

This is exactly why Reno needs an authentic all you can eat barbecue buffet. I mean fried catfish on an all you can eat buffet is one thing, but it's not barbecue it's fried fish! Give me a buffet that has chicken hot links brisket shredded pork and also pork spare ribs. You can also put sides on the buffet along with some Texas toast. Now that's real barbecue.
