Hidalgo Mexican Restaurant

I love this place. I don't know what some of these people are talking about that gave it bad reviews. The salsa is flavorful and not spicy. My fiancé and I have always had service right away. The food is amazing for the price. In my experience you get what you pay for. However Hidalgo is not the case. You get more than what you pay for. The waitress that we usually have is a sweet girl and has always been friendly towards us. I would strongly recommend trying their food.

There was only one other table of customers in the restaurant and it took them 10 minutes to notice we were even there waiting for a table. The food was bland and 2 out of 3 of our orders were wrong. Waitress had trouble explaining anything and told us that two COMPLETELY different dishes were "the same thing" and we waited 25 minutes for the food to even come out. We had kids with us and the waitress brought their food last. I would expect terrible service like this from a place that is packed full of customers, but as I said there was ONE other table of [2] people.

We have been eating at Hidalgo's for years. It is the best Mexican food we've had in Spanaway and surrounding areas. In all the years we have gone, last week they messed up an order. They promptly solved the issue by giving me the correct meal for free a few days later. Their customer service and food are excellent and I recommend this restaurant to everyone. Anytime family comes into town, this is where we go for Mexican food.

This place used to be very good but the change in management has not been positive. On our last visit, we ordered margaritas and Chile Colorado. The margaritas were peach syrup and water, which didn't taste good at all. In the Chile Colorado, the beef and seasonings were delicious, but the rice and beans were not; the beans were watered down and the rice was burnt and hard.
