Reviews of Young-young Chinese Buffet

My family went in around 4 pm on a Saturday. The food was bland and cold. Probably the smallest Chinese buffet I've ever seen.The service was good but the food was terrible.The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because they played an entire Backstreet Boys album while we were there. The 90s reign supreme.

Small selection of food, not as they advertise on their website as "the largest selection ever". Waitress did not know how to smile, and doesn't know how to say "you're welcome" when thanked. Politeness goes a long way in customer service, just saying. The table was sticky as my napkin peeled away slowly and ripped a bit. They were not busy, one other family was there and 1 take out. We waited for 5 mins at the register to check out and was a line already for take out. The prices are not what they are advertised on the website either. Was suppose to be $1.50 per drink, $10 per adult. We had 2 adults, 2 drinks = $23 not including tax and was charged $30. So I believe they are adding their own tip to the total. Not coming back. 30 mins later we were sick and fighting over the bathroom at home. Go to Mr.Woks in Waterbury for better service, cleanliness and more options.

This buffet must hire people to do damage control to curb the negative reviews. Seriously. I don’t see how any reasonable person would ever rate their food over 2 stars on a good day. Every single item was inedible. Wouldn’t even risk feeding this lukewarm hazard to my dogs. Bacteria grows at the temp the food was presented. Avoid like the plague!

This was the most disgusting Chinese meal I have ever eaten. Actually I didn’t even eat much of it. Honestly I was too afraid I would get food poisoning. A few of the dishes were stone cold and the others were barely warm. The fried rice was crunchy. My daughter took one bite and refused to eat any more. I think she was afraid of getting sick too. We complained about the food not being hot, after hearing another customer complain too. All they did was supposedly turn the heat up on the steam table. Even the stuff that was slightly warm didn’t taste good. This place has gone way downhill since the last time we went there pre-Covid. We will never return. And they had the nerve to charge us the whole price. $31 for a few bites of nasty food.

I think this place was great. It was nice, CLEAN, cozy, and not too overwhelming... The food was fresh and tasty and the staff was super nice. We went for the lunch buffet, which was only 8.99. I was so surprised that there was spicy mango salad as a choice. I'm not ashamed to say that I've been to a lot of buffets and I've never seen spicy mango salad as a selection.

Good Value. I was new to the area, and the reviews I had seen here and elsewhere had given me pause-but I went to try it and I am glad I did. Much of what you will read in the reviews is out of date. There are no paper or Styrofoam plates (except the to go boxes.) The buffet was well stocked. The place was quite busy. Everything I ate (and I tried many items) was hot and fully cooked. The food was tasty, and there was a decent variety. I stayed a long time, and saw the buffet constantly being restocked. It is an extremely reasonable value for the price. One of the least expensive buffets I have ever seen. If you're looking for a gourmet Chinese meal, what are you doing at a buffet? If you are looking for a good deal and satisfying food, I'd highly recommend you give this place a try. (I have posted this same review on other sites. I have no connection to the business, just wanted to see them get a fair shake.)

Young-young is AWESOME. I am fairly new to plantsville and I have tried a couple of chinese resturaunts in the area and I finally came across young-young.... not only do they deliver but they are efficient They also send your order with a side of soft serve ice cream on the house. My son and I enjoy Chinese at least 3 times a month and we love the food from young-young. It is always fresh and the delivery people are Always pleasant!!!! I can't say enough about how pleased I am with my overall experience with young-young. We ended our search for a good chinese resturaunt thats close to home.
