Almost always a small wait in the evening, but the food is worth it. Top grade sushi and dinners. Cant get enough of their Beef curry, Nabeyaki Udon, Obama Roll, and their Black Pine Tree roll.
This place never disappoints. The Black Tiger, Obama and Burning California rolls are amazing. I would highly recommend to anyone in the Detroit area!
This has been our favorite local sushi spot! The Obama roll is the best but on this particular night, we wanted to omit rice to be keto friendly. We did sashimi and shrimp tempura without the rice.
This place is amazing. The staff is lively, accommodating and extremely friendly. The lighting, seating and ambiance is fantastic. The “random music generator” is almost suspiciously good. And the food&drink is 7/7 (yes, I’m grading in a scale of 7). I’ll definitely be coming back for more sushi and hot sake :)
First time trying this local Sushi place. I had the crab sticks appetizer, and they were amazing! Ordered some California Rolls , which were ok, the soy sauce with them was very salty. I also tried the chicken teriyaki entree, which was delicious! It came with soup, salad, rice, broccoli, and potato salad. The potato salad was so good!! Be prepared to wait, if you dine in, it's a local favorite!!
Best sushi I've had in Michigan! Can't complain about a single thing. The staff was friendly and professional. The atmosphere was perfect. The food was reasonably priced. If not cheaper than expected. With the combo platters you get soup and a salad. If you're downriver and looking for sushi- this is the place
Celebrated here for a birthday. The food was great, blessed to be out with the year and a half we've all had. 🙏🏼 Food was good, but I definitely recommend the Tataki App (pictured) didn't get the salmon, but the Tuna and Beef was worth it. Definitely worth a try. Staff was friendly and the prices were up to par with most sushi restaurants. ****
Cute little sushi joint. Interesting selection of sake. It was by the glass not purchase the bottle. (I sometimes enjoy a to go home sake bottle for later). Fried dumplings were paired with a nice suace. Sushi rolls and presentation were great. Beef noodles were plated well and delicious. Server let our drinks go empty for a good while before checking on us other wise good experience. Recommend
I've been to Black Pine Tree many times before, started going there in 2014, the food have always been great and the chefs behind the counter always done an amazing job. I have had the Ramon seafood soup about 4 times before, today I took my friends to eat there and yet again they never disappoint. The Ramon seafood soup was exceptional 👌 Chef Patrick did an amazing job (well worth waiting 30 minutes for it and I'd wait an hour with a smile on my face) as for our server she was polite, quick and on top of things.
Thank you for a great experience.
