Just ordered a Shiva platter for 30 people and as always, Town Hall Deli outdid themselves. The platters were beautifully prepared and decorated, the meats were fresh and delicious, the bagels were pre-cut for us, fresh, assorted and the Nova was fantastic! Everything was delivered at the time requested and I can't say enough wonderful things about Matt, Tony and their staff!! Thank you. Thank you!!!!

For almost 100 years serving South Orange and the surrounding communities by far the BEST sloppy joe sandwiches. I would drive 100 miles for lunch at this spot!

I had my first Town Hall Deli experience over the weekend and what an experience it is! We purchased 2 sloppy joes (1 Brooklyn and 1 Gourmet) and did not have the opportunity to eat them fresh. They came back to northern NY with us and what a treat 2 days later! We also purchased some of their sweet breads and they are superb as well. My father grew up in South Orange in the 30's and 40's but for some reason we never made it here. When I get back to Jersey, it's going to be on my must stop list! The staff are actually artisans in their craft and so very pleasant!

Just returned from my hometown of SO. The Sloppy Joe was awesome. The guy who made it was a 85 prep grad. Thank you I wish I got your name. I will be back visiting soon. Happy and Properous New Year

Exactly the same awesome sandwich that I grew up with. Great service today as well. I understand they mail sloppy joes everywhere. I may just take them up on the offer

Although I live in Virginia now, I grew up eating the original sloppy joe. My grandparents lived in south orange and Maplewood. Still as delicious as always. 😊👍

What can I say that hasn't been said. THD is the BEST OF THE BEST!!! Great service! Awesome food! I applied for a job here once and wasn't called back. But I think it saved me because I would've just asked to be paid in food!!! I LOVE this place!!!!

Getting a joe is like coming home to family because I grew up eating this sandwich. I get 1/2 a gourmet. So good

Grew up going to THD! Their sandwiches NEVER disappoint. I live in FL now, but every time I visit NJ THD is on my list of places to go. ❤️

Yum! Go every time I take my kids to the pediatrician across the street. I was told they ship the sloppy joes now too!

BEST SLOPPY JOE'S IN NEW JERSEY !!! I've been going to the Town Hall Deli since they were on South Orange Avenue in the Village, across from GRUNINGS !! The new location is small, but the sandwiches are still the BEST. Over the years, a lot of famous people have eaten here, and I can see why. You won't be disappointed. In addition, they cater their delicious sandwiches and will deliver platters if you call ahead. Town Hall Deli is a 5 star sandwich shop.!!!

Best sloppy joe in NJ hands down - no matter what meat(s) (or even just cheese) you choose because of their ploughman's bread. Better than that other deli that keeps popping up in towns around NNJ. Their roast chicken lunch special was perfectly cooked. Good breakfast sandwiches and coffee, too.

Definitely fresh food, just wasn’t a fan of the dressing and coleslaw too sweet for me and the dressing tasted more like ketchup idk if that goes with this type of sandwich. However There’s so many options that I would come back again and try something else.

After returning to NJ after 35 years one of my first stops was THD and was so happy that it was still so great. I missed seeing old friends namely Fred, Heintz, Bill and of course Jack but what great memories of growing up in SO and WO. Yes many changes in town but THD is still there and as good as ever. I will be back.

A real local institution. The food's yummy and the service is friendly. It gets a little chaotic at lunch and it can take a while, but the food is worth it.

Got an original sloppy joe and cheesecake and they were great (do not fear tongue). Service was great. Only drawback is the price -- the half sandwich is large, but spending $20+ for a sandwich and dessert is stretching the tolerance.

What a great lunch! Although I didn't have one of their amazing sandwiches (I know how do you go to a deli of this caliber and not order a sandwich?!) I did have their Greek salad and it was too shelf! Hubby had the Pastrami on rye and of course I had a bite (or two) and it was delicious. The bread was soft, fresh and the pastrami...well seasoned and sliced perfectly. My sister in law had the sloppy joe, looked amazing and must have tasted good since she finished the entire thing! My salad was fresh, and the portion was generous. Definitely a treat when we get to stop in and have lunch. If you haven't been go, like now! Great place and the staff is super friendly. (Didn't get a pic of the pastrami sandwich)
