We came in on a weeknight and got a lot of dishes (bean paste buns, potstickers, green beans, sweet basil chicken, veggie chow mein)!
Each of them were very tasty. I am a vegetarian and my husband eats meat. He said the basil chicken was very good and unique. The chow mein was lovely (not too greasy like other places), and I really liked the bean paste buns.
Jenny was our waitress and she was very friendly and gave good service! I appreciated that they are also wearing masks and gloves and following all safety protocols.
This is my FAVORITE Chinese Food, possibly ever--run by Chris and Jenny, who always greet me with great service & a warm hello. I have been going here for many many years. Being Asian, I grew up with nothing but Chinese Food as a kid, and this restaurant is the most memorable one to me in terms of food taste and quality. My favorite dishes include: Mongolian beef--so tender to where you don't even need a knife to cut into pieces! The brown rice is always so fresh, fluffy, & soft. Their Hot and Sour Soup is super tasty. I have even brought my vegan friend here, who really enjoyed their food. Try it for yourself! Delicious!
Haven't been here for years. Restaurant is extremely tired. But very very very CLEAN. I had a large Hot and Sour and steamed egg rolls. Absolutely the best. My husband had Mongolian Beef looked so good I grabbed a piece of beef. Best I have ever had, my husband thought so too. If you can get past the tired look of the place, the food was worth it.
In town for work and this place was near my hotel. Its hard to find good chinese food where I live. This was so good, I got one of the combo plates. Chicken was crispy and flavorful. Rice was really good as well. No complaints.
Golden Fu Wah is consistently the best Chinese and Chinese-American in the county. I have never been disappointed by my experience here, and I am often impressed by the quality of the ingredients used to prepare dishes.
On our most recent visit, we ordered orange chicken with broccoli, vegetable chow nein, and hot & sour soup. The chicken was tender and moist with sauce that was flavorful but not overly sweet. I could tell that real orange peel / zest had been used to flavor the sauce, not just sugar like budget places.
The soup was perfect. Just the right consistency, not too watery or too thick. The spice hits on the first spoonful, and it stays with you without detracting from the flavor of the dish.
I highly recommend Golden Fu Wah for a big lunch or a ... well, a big dinner, too. The portions are generous, and even though I'm a big eater, I always have leftovers.
Be sure to ask for Sing if you call to place an order. She is super friendly, attentive, and always eager to make sure that customers feel welcome.
Wonderful! You can always tell good quality Chinese food and this is it. Flavor is spot on and they make it fresh and quick. Thank you!
Golden Fu Wah has become my and my partners favorite spot for Chinese food in the Santa Cruz area! The seaweed tofu soup, shrimp chow mein, general tao's chicken, and their egg rolls have consistently been flavorful and well portioned. The environment is cozy and the people who have helped us have always been welcoming! Thanks for the amazing food!
The general Taos chicken is possibly the best I've ever had, large chunks of chicken. Sweet and sour soup was good. The egg rolls were a big let down. It didn't say on the menu that entrees don't come with rice which was disappointing as I ordered delivery but all and all a good experience
