I've been to many sushi places in the US and Japan and this place is absolutely amazing. The omakase is the best I've ever had.
We went for the "chef special choice" Omakase sashimi and sushi combo at the sushi bar. The quality, presentation and selection of options excelled.
This is one of our favorite local sushi spots. Even during the pandemic, we would treat ourselves to their omakase (sushi selection by the chef) and a few of our other favorite rolls and items. Their food is always fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. In person, the service has always been great as well. We cannot wait to go back in person soon!
Ai Sushi is what real authentic sushi is all about! The fish is always very fresh, creative options and simply delicious. I have been going to this restaurant since it was formerly known as Shumi. The quality of the food has not changed since new owners have taken over! The food never disappoints! If you love fresh sushi, Ai Sushi will not disappoint ! Always amazing !
First off, Ai Sushi is NOT an Americanized sushi place. If you are looking for some California, Volcano or Fat Flying Pregnant Pig rolls, you won't find them there. What you will find is the best quality fish in the area prepared by very experienced chefs. The omakase (chef's choice) is always excellent. It is BYOB, so grab a good bottle of Saki and enjoy yourself!
Sushi was so good I was too busy eating it and forgot to photograph it. Next time! While it will not be necessarily easy to find this restaurant, it is tucked away inside a building, it is definittely worth doing as the food was terrific. Had edamame, gyoza, and seaweed salad to start. Had various sushi pieces for dinner. Very happy with the experience and the food was great. Nice selection of fish. Go check it out!

Went there a few days ago and sat at the sushi bar for the omakase. The sushi and sashimi were all delicious. The chef was deft, incredibly polite, and very knowledgeable. We tried some Japanese aori ika (bigfin reef squid) that was incredible and apparently very hard to find. At the end, the chef humored me with an uni (sea urchin) maki and it was quite an experience. We were debating getting omakase in Philadelphia or NYC, but are glad we chose Ai sushi. Its omakase is top notch and the prices are much more comfortable than either big city.
