Review Tapastre - Somerville

Really solid food. The burger was good and juicy. Bar has a great selection; duck fries were good. The mach and cheese could use more flavor and a cheese with a stronger flavor because all the flavor came from the seasoning on top. So unless you mix it well, it's kind of flat. The asparagus also could have used some seasoning or salt. It's still worth going to and getting some food and a drink from.

This place was great! Fun drinks, great vibes and friendly attentive staff.

Went one night without a reservation. The seats at the bar were filled but only two regular tables had people at them. The high tops at the bar were empty and the 4 little couches were occupied by one person. The guy sitting there said the 3 other seats were taken. The place is small and were told all tables were booked for the night, including the high tops. So we ordered some cocktails and stood in the corner at the bar for a bit. The female bartender with dark hair (she’s a waitress too) was so rude and stiff! She seemed annoyed that we were standing there, ordering drinks. She went light on our cocktails only filling our glasses about 2/3 or the way and felt the need to keep reminding us that we couldn’t sit any anywhere because all tables were already reserved. We were told we could sit outside but seating there is for sipping only, no food or waitstaff. While we stood for 30+ minutes waiting for a bar seat to open, NO ONE sat at the bar tables…or the open dining tables…or the 3 open couch seats. We were looking to hang a bit, have drinks, small plates but left because this bartender kept staring us down which made us uncomfortable. Her demeanor was weird, off. It felt as if we were inconveniencing her and invading the space. I recognize now reservations are key if you want to be treated properly here. So I would make one should I decide to give them a try again. However, if this place prefers to lose business, keep hiring unfriendly, awkward staff, allow tables to stay unoccupied and treating your patrons poorly like we were.

I was very impressed. I have never been, even to the town. We walked in as they opened. Liked the space; below street level , nice vibe. The two bartenders were very friendly. It was happy hour and some of the items must have been reduced. We had 6 drinks; 5 food items for 90$. All of the food was very good and compared to many other spots much better. I even ordered one a second time. It's out of my normal path. I met a friend coming thru; I would definitely go back.

Friendly staff and clean outside seating make this a fun and enjoyable place to dine out. We wanted to order more food on top of our small plates but the staff helpfully let us know that what we had ordered was already enough which was nice. All the small plates were great, though we particularly liked the crab cakes. The pork belly fat part was a little under rendered and the meat part a bit over cooked but overall still very tasty. Duck fat fries were a hit too. Indoor seating is available and from what I could see, the tables were all spaced reallllly far apart. Bathrooms available if you wear masks and patio seating is cleaned thoroughly between patrons. We'll be returning soon to try out the truffle pizza and reuben!

Haven't been since COVID. Nice to see still has nice beer selection.

Ok I've been living in Bridgewater for 21years and have missed this place. My family and I went here for dinner and it was awesome food. We didn't have to wait for too long to sit and the food came pretty fast. Everything we had was good. Oh yeah we pick off of each other's food ( Lol) so we can see how everything tast. I highly recommend this spot.

Great atmosphere, was with another couple. We would have dine more small plates if we were alone and sampled more. My reason for 4 stars. Great beer selection for local brewed beer.

Food is absolutely amazing, be prepared to eat and leave full. The bartenders take the drink program very seriously creating amazing cocktails, and they have a 4 page beer menu If that's your preference. Staff is VERY attentive to your needs helping to create a great dining experience. I called in advance to set up a surprise for my wife and the manager Sarah was very helpful making it a great surprise. Our waiter Steven was excellent and needs to be commended for his level of service he provides the customers . Will definitely be back , and recommend the place to friends. Thank you for a great dining experience.

Very rarely do I write reviews for restaurants or bars, but it goes to show the fantastic experience I had at Tapastre last night. As a first time guest, I was impressed with the relaxing, mildly lit "lounge-feel" of the bar. Along with the all craft beer menu (no macro lagers) & cocktail list, it suggests a serious emphasis on the products they serve. I'm a fairly big beer nerd & I was impressed with the range of styles that Tapastre served (not only IPAs) as well as the fair portion of taps dedicated to small, New Jersey-based breweries. I was in the mood for bar food & my cheesesteak & side salad were both above average. Although the bar & dining floor were fairly full from about 8-10 PM, it never felt congested. In addition, the bartenders were some of the most attentive & pleasant people I've come across in a restaurant setting. It also helps that there are two TVs for those who like to watch sports, but prefer the setting of something other than a sports bar. I will likely be returning to Tapastre & suggest you give it a visit yourself.

Exceeded any and all expectations I had. Beer and drink selection was incredible. Food combinations are original, exciting, and exquisite. The wait staff is knowledgeable about all of the drinks and menu items, and incredibly friendly and accommodating. They have a very cool outdoor patio for gorgeous summer night dinners outdoors, and the dining room has a calm, earthy atmosphere with awesome music. Absolutely worth every single red cent you'll spend there. I would be proud to bring friends here.

I've been here a dozen times and have never been disappointed! The Fig Martini is my favorite. The also have flights of craft beer. The tapas is wonderful as is any menu item. The place itself is not big but the ambiance is wonderful! Happy hour is till 7 and gets crowed. All staff are friendly and attentive.

Outstanding happy hour with great beer selection and cocktails.... And let's hope the pint glass of bacon never leaves the bar menu.

This is the best place in Somerville for a craft beer menu. All the food is great and this is my favorite place to go an unwind after a long work week. I recommend the Friday Night Flights!!!

These guys are the best. Beers, food and staff are awesome. The truffled pork pizza is my favorite.

We came here for my mother in laws birthday and the wait staff were extremely attentive and the food was very good. The reason I am giving one star as opposed to four or five stars is because the maitre de was extremely rude and unaccommodating to a group of people who had a young child in a stroller. First of all, the main entrance is not handicap accessible and when both the hostess and maitre de saw me and my mother in law carrying a heavy stroller up a flight of stairs there was no offer for assistance. When we arrived both also looked at the stroller disdainfully and clearly were not pleased a child was coming into the restaurant. Thirdly, there is no changing table in bathrooms and when I changed my 7 month old baby in an extremely secluded corner of the restaurant shielded by her stroller and placed on a changing mat where no other patrons were within 10 feet of me, the maitre de came over and asked me to leave the table. This was at the end of a lovely meal where the waitress and busing staff frequently commented on how good our child was as she did not make any noise and was in our laps the entire time. Never have I felt so discriminated against for having a child in a public space and for that reason I will never return to this restaurant and would discourage any future customers who need handicap access.

Awesome food that you couldn't think up in your wildest culinary dreams! Elegant yet comfortable setting. Very friendly staff. Great place.

If you don't love this place, it's because you have a problem. Tapastre is amazing. I've been coming here for years (even though it's an hour from my home) because the staff, food, and drinks are all fantastic. I have neither had a negative experience with the staff, nor have I been disappointed by the chef. Again, any problem you have, is just that- your problem, your attitude, or your desire to be miserable. Five stars every single time.

We love Tapastre! We head there for girls night out. Perfect 1/2 way meeting point for all of us. Food is delicious and prices are great. We usually order lots of plates, sangria and talk all night!
