I love that they have there gluten free rolls back on the menu! Pretty good selection of gluten free options and they are incredible to modify your food for your food allergies! One place you can trust if you have food allergies! The food was amazing as always! The stuff was very friendly! They offer a good selection of drinks as well! I highly recommend this Legal Seafood - Legal C Bar restaurant at the Assembly in Somerville

My wife said she won't return to this location because of the terrible service. I personally didn't mind the service. Although the young lady did not bring us the right side order, didn't bring everything with our main dish and I asked for saute onions and she brought me two ✌🏽 cut onions with grill marks 😂. I was so tired I end up laughing at all her mistakes. I've worked for Mr. Berkowitz in my college days so legals can't do much wrong by me. My wife on the other hand 😂😂. Fun joke! My wife goes to Legal C Bar and she sits down. She’s having a bowl of soup and she says to the waiter, “Waiter, come taste the soup.” Waiter says, “Is something wrong with the soup?” “Taste the soup.” my wife said. Waiter says, “Is there something wrong with the soup? Is the soup too hot?” “Will you taste the soup?” Waiter says, “What’s wrong, is the soup too cold?” “Will you just taste the soup?!” Waiter says, “Alright, I’ll taste the soup – where’s the spoon?” Aha. Aha! …🥄😁😁😁

Worst experience ever. We are big fans of Legal Sea and trying restaurants in general. This is our first experience in this one. We went near the time the kitchen closed, but as long as we’re paying the same prices I’m expecting the same quality. All the food sucked, no exceptions and I received the worst service. This is the first time we’ve left without tipping and we’re big tippers. The waitress would just leave the water bottle there, would leave the plates randomly in the table and we’d have to basically serve ourselves and fix our plates. Even when we asked our food to go because we just couldn’t eat it, she brought the containers and we were cleaning out the plates ourselves, we even packed the oysters ourselves! It was a gross experience. The food was extremely disappointing. The oysters were tasteless, like salty slime. The tataki had so much seasoning it made we throw up. Even the Scampi was soooo bland and underwhelming Never threw $200 in the drain like this. The only reason we took it to go it’s because we felt bad spending all this money for food we barely touched, but don’t know why we took it because we’re not eating it!!! We just came, spend the money and left. Didn’t even spend 30 minutes there and didn’t even eat, just forced some food down our throats. HORRIBLE

Still has a good atmosphere, not so pleased with the food. It was going to be 20min wait with a reservation to get outdoor seating with a reservation due to staffing. With the change of ownership they have definitely shifted the menu geared towards smaller portions and knock off recipes. My latest order included a bowl of lobster bisque which seemed to be more of a brown oily broth than a traditional cream based recipe. My lobster roll had more roll than lobster. When I order a beer I'd expect a decent sized cold one around 16oz it appears they give you a 10oz. In all a dinner for 2 1 bowl of knock off lobster bisque, 2 Rolls with some lobster in there somewhere and a couple small beers ran me $135 not including tip. Don't worry always give the server 25%. I will definitely be looking at other places when I want to get my seafood fix. Legal is no longer my go to spot for a lobster anymore. Hopefully management can get this place back to a higher quality of standards. I don't mind dropping $135 on GOOD quality food, for what you get at that cost not worth it.

While we had to wait to be seated for about 15 minutes even with a reservation (it was a busy Friday night) the food and service was great! Food came out so fast and was incredibly good. The lobster roll was awesome as was the clam chowder. Drinks were pretty basic but decent.

Everything were below my expectations. The oysters were okay but nothing fancy and it’s $3 per one. Streak was so so not worth it; the warm lobster roll was just okay. Conclusion is I would not visit again.

The quality, consistent Legal experience you've come to expect, with Test Kitchen options. Same quality options and a very solid bar. Do try the test kitchen items, they are more interesting and flavorable. And when it's warm, enjoy the outdoor seating. Also give yourself time to park. Assembly can be zoo. Take the T if you can.

Went there for date night last night and idk I guess I expected it to be better. I got the crab cake combo and my hubby got the fisherman’s platter. He said everything on his plate kinda tasted the same and he was right even though there was like 5 different types of seafood on his plate. My plate was ok. The crab cake was the star. The salad was good but not enough of it on the plate. The shrimp was ok. The scallops were pretty good. Overall we spent $105 and it just wasn’t worth that much. I can go to NH and get better seafood for way less. We also got the crab dip and that wasn’t very good either. Super watery. It was my first time and honestly I don’t think I’ll be back unless I’m just getting drinks. The pomegranate lemon drop was amazing.

We went specifically for the lobster rolls(butter poached was my favorite) and Boston cream pie(to die for) but had so much more. The oysters we're just as delicious as they claimed them to be and the steamed mussels where phenomenal full of flavor and not very chewy my wife loved the risotto cake that was one thing I could have done without but everybody's tastes are different everything was so fresh and delicious even the sauteed kale was remarkable walking through the restaurant seeing other people's plates made you want to have even more but I did not have any room in my stomach for it I will always remember this restaurant and anytime I come through town I will make it a point to stop there

Cute children's menus enclosed in a "net" and delicious fried seafood platter. Loved sitting half inside, half outside during spring season with open windows as we sat with a view of the river. Only complaint is price! $$$ but the food is overall worth it.

Today we ordered the Fried Seafood platter. Not very good. Lots of fries and whole belly clams. A few pretty large shrimp. Didn't like the batter, greasy. For the price, not worth it.

had the From The Grill selection of shrimp mash potatoes and a side salad. My only negative was The portion was a bit small but was excellent. Mash potatoes were firm and creamy no lumps Shrimps were well cooked and very tasty and needed no additional flavor (no lemon needed) The dessert was a chocolate layer cake that was rich and filling with a semi sweet chocolate a very generous slice. Excellent meal overall and hope to come back again! Thank you to our wonderful server who was attentive and friendly.

Extremely poor service. GM that does not interact with patrons. Bartenders that need to be told to service you. Rude waiters. Ordered sautéed spinach. Only a quarter of it looked as if it even touched a hot pan. The only decent person on duty was the bartender tending the well.

Great place for the family with nice views and great food. Awesome place to walk around and enjoy the shops and views.

We loved our seafood au gratin but was disappointed at the amount of wine in my glass for $9.50 a glass and the size of our piece of chocolate cake for $7.95 a piece. :(

Was not a fan of the one in Boston so was skeptical. Glad we went, it was so good, and perfect night for sitting on patio. I would go here vs Boston any time. Thank you for a great dinner.

Great service and industrial decor! Food was excellent! Open kitchen is a cool area for sitting. Wait staff catered to food allergies. Will visit again and again!

We have always love Legal Sea Foods but this particular store is really cool. Great vibe and young crowd. Excellent waiter-Grant! Ask for him.

My girlfriend took me there for my birthday. We had the seasonal sangria which was fantastic! I got fish in a bag it was pretty good she got scampi it was good a little bland but altogether good. The pumpkin cheesecake was fantastic. All in all it was a really good experience I am sure I will visit again. Our waiter was great the service was fantastic

Lousy steak tips, service is not even able to be rated subpar, fried clams are hard as rocks.... I wouldn't recommend this place since it's changed so much in the past year with the service going downhill....

Excellent raw bar menu, everything is so fresh. Lobster rolls are good also it is the favorite item for my wife.
