Review Bergamot - Somerville

We had a pleasant experience at the establishment. Food was good and service was very attentive. My glass was refilled multiple times over our five course tasting menu. Given the cost in Boston, I think all the items were fairly priced. I would recommend this place to people who happen to be nearby.

My husband and I went to Bergamot for our anniversary. We both tried the five course tasting menu, which was fantastic! They are very accommodating to any dietary restrictions / preferences. The service was very attentive while not being overwhelming. We each also had a cocktail to start (one with rye, one with bourbon), and both were very tasty. All of the food was beautifully cooked and presented. Our dessert even had "happy anniversary" on the plate! We'll definitely be back!

Staff is great and professional. They are happy to answer all sorts of questions (about the meal and wines). We had a great food experience. The tasting menu is very interesting, wide range of tastes. surprising choices for the wine pairing, not always meeting my tastes and expectations but no bad surprises. I recommend the experience.

Had a great experience here with friends. The staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful and everything we ate was delicious. Ordering individually as you went made eating with a group easy. All the apps were filling and even though We filled up on nachos, wings, Brussels sprouts (amazing) and the wildly pink goat cheese and beet spread- I still had to order their award winning chicken sandwich. It was delicious. The ambiance and artwork created a chill vibe even if you just wanted to grab some beers. Anyway the point is go here it’s good ok bye.

I love stopping by here for dollar oysters on Sunday nights! Just make sure to call to see if they have any as they do sometimes run out early. Barnaby is the best, he makes me really wonderful on and off menu cocktails. Highly recommended for a stop in.

Made a dinner reservation for the outdoor patio… When my wife and I got there (just a minute early), the couple in front of us took the last outdoor spot. When pressed if we could sit outside they told us they couldn’t and sat us indoor. Not the end of the world, but at the end of the night, after receiving our bill (2 burgers and 2 beers) it came out to be $70 (before tip). We were taken back at how expensive a simple meal was. Not worth going back for us.

Great pork based appetizers. “The board” is probably the best in the menu. Great wine selection; the in house sommelier had great by the glass red wine selections. Ambiance is a bit lacking, however, the flavorful dishes served make up for it.

This review is specifically for their afternoon patio service, which I believe is different from their dinner menu/bar and service. Our experience started well when 2 of us sat outside on a nice day and had a friendly server who even gave our dog a treat and some attention. Great start. Ordered two margaritas which were very bland and tasted pre-made (turns out most of their daytime bar menu cocktails are pre-made, which would be great to tell patrons before they order them. I heard this first hand from the server speaking to another table). Ordered the beet root and goat cheese dip, which tasted ok but was not interesting by any means, except for the bright purple beet color. The crostinis were very hard and unpleasant to eat. As my partner was eating the dip she pulled a piece of plastic out of her mouth, that had apparently come from the bag that the pre-made dip came in. It took about 20 minutes before our server visited so we could inform about the plastic in the food. Then another 15 mins before the server's next visit. He had several tables to take care of, but I did notice there were at least 3 other staff members milling about the patio that did not appear to be serving guests. Our server was not exactly the definition of speed but was friendly. Personally I'd prefer a rude and fast server than a friendly slow one. We bought a few items from inside to support the artist community then went on our way. Would have liked to stay and have more food and beers but the experience was really not worth staying for, especially given the other options in the area. So to recap: bad premade drinks, plastic in the bland premade food, and slow service. I appreciate what they're going for and very much like the intent to support local artists, but I doubt I'll be going back for anything more than a beer. There are good ways to do a limited lunch/patio menu with good service, but this wasn't it. From what I can tell, dinner service has a full menu and bar so maybe that is a better experience. Not sure if I want to roll the dice with all the other excellent options in the area. Unfortunately, that brings us to only 2/5 stars.

Our favorite date night restaurant. We always get the tasting menu, sometimes with wine flights. Have never ever been disappointed. All plates are presented so creatively and the flavor combinations are like a symphony in your mouth! The staff are all very knowledgeable about their cocktails, wines and plates. The presentation is second to the great tastes!

Love this place! Paul the Bartender alone makes the experience one of legends! Also, the Short Rib is to die for. Every bite is like a explosion of flavor in your mouth. A must try experience for CambridgIans, Somervillians, or you know, just anyone who appreciates really good food!

First and foremost...amazing, personal service. I was craving chocolate chip cookies and asks our server where we could go in the area for some cookies. Next thing i know, the cook comes out with this plate of freshly baked cookies. She wrote "the best cookies are fresh cookies" in chocolate sauce. Truly above and beyond...milk included! Our meal was fantastic as well and the servers really do tend to your every need. Bravo!

Absolutely delicious, the scallops were amazing and the duck was cooked perfectly, had a nice Grenache to wash everything down - highly recommend!

I was at Bergamot last night for my birthday and I had an amazing experience. The service was great, our waiter was so attentive! They were also very good with my gluten free requests � Thank you so much for making my birthday extra special!!

Second time there and same great food experience, kitchen made a mistake in one of the dishes, although we told them over the phone, then told the waiter before the order. What I appreciated, is that the whole team owned the mistake and corrected it immediately, and the chef sent out a different version of the fish dish so that offset the mistake. Overall very well thought out delicious dishes, a truly great food experience, I will definitely recommend and will come back.

Great food+friendly and personable service, what's not to love? Felt like home, but an exceedingly delicious, curated, well tended-home. Great date spot. They even put together a gift of Bergamot tea in a cute jar for me for my birthday! Who does that?! �

Bergamot is our favorite! We have been there several times. It is consistently a great experience, from the delicious food to the wonderful service. The staff is very knowledgable (especially regarding the wine list!) and accommodating. I have a food allergy and they handled it beautifully. Can't beat the $44 pre fix for a lovely evening out.

Great food and excellent service. Everyone was very attentive. We mentioned at the beginning of dinner that it was our anniversary and when the final dessert course came out they wrote Happy Anniversary in chocolate on it. Great Job!

We had not been here before...and since we spend most of our time outside of the city these days, don't get much of a chance to enjoy find dining cuisine as much as we'd both like. Our niece gave us a gift certificate last Christmas for Bergamot and we put it off a few times - scheduling dinner, rescheduling twice again - almost as if we were fighting it. Well, we gave in - didn't reschedule and went, and we had an excellent time - and ate some excellent food. The service, the food, everything - was excellent and worth every penny we spent over the gift certificate. We will be coming back, and soon. Enjoy.

Astounded by how good the food was. Originally supposed to be a 7-course tasting menu, I think it was at least 10 with a couple of amuse bouche and a "pre-dessert" basil ice cream. Each course was was more delicious than the last. There was a fish course and a pork course, a salad course, a roasted asparagus course and I started to forget by the next course because the next course was so wonderfully prepared and presented. The service was also flawless. Can't wait to go again!

Think I found a new favorite place. High quality food and wine with a relaxed atmosphere. From the door to the bar to the table, service was excellent all around!!
