We are regulars in Hoysala for a weekend lunch buffet and on and off for a weekday buffet dinner too. Our family loves Hoysala, we bring our guests here as well and they enjoy the food here too. Very nice Karnataka food, ambience is great, the waiters very attentive and we even get to hear Kannada songs :)

Dear Sandeep,Praveen,Mr.Raju and the staff thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality, you have always exceeded our expectations. This is our favorite Indian restaurant.Great lunch and dinner buffet lets you try a lot of things for a great price. On special occasions, traditional South Indian dishes are prepared in almost the same way as they were centuries ago. This is a hidden gem, perfect and flawless.Difficult to find better!

The food was one of the freshest and plentiful out of all the Indian buffets I’ve been to. And rivals NY restaurants.

One of the best indian food places in NJ. They have great variety of food. I love the ragi mudde and akki rotti. It has an authentic Karnataka food taste! Must try if you are in tri-state!! (Reviewed in 2019)

For $13.95 a person, Hoysala serves a huge variety of South Indian style veg and non-veg dishes . Food is continuous made fresh in small batches. We enjoyed the dosa , vada and the fried chicken and the South Indian style lamb biryani .

Mouth watering Ragi muddae and saru 😋. We went there mainly for ragi muddae on Thursday 🌙. But they had buffet which included muddae. So got to taste all other dishes. Everything we had tasted really good ( chicken curry, fish curry, vada, both red and green chutney was excellent, Dosa, curd rice etc ) never experienced in any other Indian restaurant. Staff is very friendly ( could be because we spoke in Kannada), there is room to improve on service. You can BYOB.

Best food. Excellent Chicken Biryani, strong goat curry. No coloring added to make the food eye catchy. If you are craving for food from Karnataka, thiis place is a must visit. Food is one such thing that your stomach says enough but heart doesn't, so plan for a Sunday buffet on a long weekend. Guarantee FOOD COMA!

Just the salad on the buffet lunch is worth it. If you are a fan of Kali (ragi ball), do visit this place. I don't think many people serve it,

There was an unusually large selection at the $15 dinner buffet, with items being replenished & swapped out regularly. Everything that I tried was excellent; I really don't think they could have done a better job with the food: the pakora crispy & slightly salty, the biriyani with just the right combination of textures, the curries - Oh Damn 🤩... As more people started coming in in larger groups, the staff opened up a whole other buffet area so that the line wasn't a problem. (I was in there Valentine's Day 2020, which may or might not be typical for quality/ crowds.) The place had some single customers, couples, couples with children, larger groups of adults - a nice mixture of people, 95% of them seeming to be West Asian (which tends to cue you in to quality Indian food). It didn't seem particularly romantic (you probably don't want to be bringing a date to a buffet anyway), but it's still actually quite nice inside and well kept/ not run down like a lot of all-you-can-eat places seem to be. It's definitely worth a stop if you're coming down 287 or spending a day in New Brunswick.
