Ate there last night an it was amazing. First off the service was first class the waitress was very knowledgeable, graceful and a all around sweetheart, for an appetizer we order the trout bites... They were delicious then I had what she recommend the Joyce farms chicken an my lady had the shrimp an grits, to say the least we were very satisfied. Then to top the evening off I had the chocolate markee for dessert it was to die for. For anyone coming to snowshoe I highly recommend Appalachia kitchen, amazing food, amazing people and a atmosphere which is unlike anywhere I've been.... Thank u

Was very impressed, especially after reading some of the negative reviews!! I don't think I'd ever order seafood in the mountains as mentioned in other reviews, but the trout pate (locally sourced) tasted incredibly fresh. We also got the Caesar salad which was a REAL Caesar!! It came topped with anchovies and you could taste it in the dressing - it was perfect. We got the sausage special which had really well balanced flavors as well as the venison meatloaf. The meatloaf had a huge portion, a little bland, but still very good. The Creme Brulee was FANTASTIC - the sugar was perfectly torched, not overly burnt like you usually run into. Our server, Daniel was super friendly and personable - we had an amazing time here!

Absolutely delicious food, everything was perfectly prepared. We had beat salad, beef carpaccio, the trout, and venison meatloaf. It was as good a meal as I have had anywhere. The service was very slow, a good 15 minutes to be greated and given water (parched after a day on the mountain) and then drink orders, checkout, and being checked on was slow. Could almost take away a star, but the food was so good. And one should have a liitle more patience on vacation, right?

Scrumptious meal! Worth every penny we spent. Great ambiance with warm coziness. Farm to table. Chef Ed knows what he is doing in the kitchen. A must if you are staying in Snowshoe. Our waitress was on point and allowed us to enjoy the meal.

Easily the best restaurant at Snowshoe. Opened in 2017, a little walk outside of the village, but worth the effort to get there. All natural foods that are locally sourced. They are one of the few restaurants that takes reservations which was a plus.

Was impressed with Appalachia Kitchen! It was a little more on the pricey side but the atmosphere and food supports it. We had the tomahawk steak everyone likes on here - it was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. But the corn that came with it??? THAT is the star of the show. It was brûlée on the top and the flavor was so buttery and delicious. My kids shared the kids menu filet and the steak was perfectly medium and the fries were good. Also the chef’s flavor of the day for crème brûlée was pumpkin…also delicious. Well done, Chef. If you’re a drinks person. I had the 2nd old fashioned on the menu (not the AK one, the other). It was good, a little on the sweet side for my taste of an old fashioned, but made for an easy drink. The champagne margarita was also good, kind of like a less sweet but bubbly margarita. Both served beautifully.

Conceptually the food is amazing... execution leaves something to be desired. Rubbery "48 hour" short rib (really there is no excuse for that) and dry chicken. But the osso bucco and steak were phenomenal! Even with the execution issues, they are still mikes better than anything in the village.

Best kitchen on the mountain. Menu is great with everything from locally sourced rainbow trout to venison meatloaf to scallops.

Christmas Eve Eve dinner with family of 20, they did a great job nice ambiance and Ryan was a great server. You can tell a lot about a restaurant by the staff they keep, both Ryan and the Kitchen did is well.

Fantastic dinner! We ordered the duck, the tenderloin, chicken breast and salmon. All cooked perfectly to our desired temps. The pork belly appetizer was delicious. Highly recommend when visiting snowshoe. A bit more expensive than I’d have liked, but we were splurging for Xmas.

The food was good, the service was less good I had a salmon fillet over couscous and it was cooked like I like it. They had a grilled whole garlic bulb on one of the appetizers and it was delicious. I've never had that before. The service started out great. Our server was nice and attentive through ordering our main dishes. There was a small mixup with two steaks that were ordered and one steak was completely forgotten. That's when the trouble started. The missing steak was supposed to be rare and I'd expect it to show up in 10min or so but it took 30 min. Every at the table was done eating before the last steak showed up. Then it was another 30 min of complete inattentiveness while we waited to get our checks. It didn't look like we were the only table that was frustrated with service that night. Even with all that, it's the restaurant I've enjoyed most at all of the places I've eaten on the mountain
