This was one of the best experiences I've ever had!! We had so much fun, Paul taught us all about the dogs during the trip, and we surprisingly had our best meal of our Aspen trip at their town-owned restaurant afterwards (get the turkey and brie sandwich!). If you're in Aspen/Snowmass, I absolutely recommend coming here during your stay -- you won't regret it!

We were there on 2/14/22. What a weird experience. From the moment we walked in the lodge, it just felt odd. I now see that a lot of reports of abuse are flooding in. Seems an incident in late January is the most recent. The restaurant....whoa. What a joke. The chicken had fake grill marks. The entire "fine" dining experience is a marketing term. It isn't fine dining, I can barely consider it dining. Onto the ride, we were moving for a total of 25-35 minutes. Not worth what is being charged. The dogs have a very difficult time on the return trip. The route crosses the trails on Snowmass skiers' left (Campground), then the sled circles and starts the trek back up the mountain. We also had the pleasure of sitting on the side of the trail 20-30 minutes while we waited on the other sleds. This establishment needs serious help. From the top to bottom it seems. I see the social media accounts have been removed. Probably a smart idea.

Krabloonik was an amazing restaurant! Service was amazing and food was even better. It is super cozy and tucked away. This is definitely the place you want to go to if you want a nice quiet evening. We did not do dog sledding but our server told us about it. She said the dogs love what they do and LOVE the cold even more. She said that they even sleep on their houses because they get so hot inside. They have vets and mushers that live on site all year round to care for and love these working dogs! As far as the restaurant goes 10/10 would recommend and would definitely try the mushroom soup!

Do some research and read the local news about this kennel before visiting. There are countless allegations of abuse. I worked there for 2 seasons and I know exactly what goes on there. Your money is going to support chaining up 200 dogs for the VAST majority of their lives. Do your research folks. And yes the town of Snowmass/Aspen and the state of Colorado has been allowing this operation for decades.

Dog abuse has been an issue at Krabloonik for decades! Currently, the head musher fled the area to avoid and an arrest warrant for his severe mistreatment of a dog - kicking, punching, stomping and slamming a dog to the ground during a tour. Luckily someone videoed it. In January, a dog froze to death and several others were removed because of malnourishment. 8 mushers have recently filed complaints about the abuse of the (about 250) dogs at Krabloonik. Do some research before you book a sled tour with them!

This place will very likely get shut down, but in the chance it doesn't, it's extremely important to be aware of the abuse and neglect these poor dogs suffer. Read in the Aspen Times article from Feb 27th titled: "Report notes lapses in Krabloonik commitments to be addressed"

They abuse their dogs. There is a six minute video showing an employee essentially torturing a poor dog. Also, these dogs are entirely neglected overall.
