See update at the end! Long time favorite location for delicious sandwiches, but it was a disappointment today. We ordered two King of The Hill sandwiches (10.95 with a bag of chips). Unfortunately they were more like bottom of the barrel today. The buns were hard and stale. I could not bite into the top bun at all and ended up just taking it off because it was inedible. There was plenty of good quality meats and cheeses on the sandwich. The problem — in addition to the stale bread — is the whole sandwich is much smaller than it used to be and there were barely any toppings. I had a tiny half slice of tomato end on each half of my sandwich, a few slivers of red onion and 1 lettuce leaf. I would have not used those tomato pieces on a sandwich I made at home let alone one I was making to sell. My husband told me that while he was waiting for our sandwiches to be made a woman who was dining inside came back to the sandwich counter to request more lettuce for her sandwich. She remarked she had very little tomato and onion as well. So this was not an isolated incident today just for us. The location is nice. The restaurant is clean and pretty with lovely decorations. The outdoor picnic area is idyllic. The new garage mural is adorable! This has always been a “must” place to stop when in Door county but after today it will probably be a drive by. We were so disappointed we didn’t even get ice cream! Update: Thank you for the reply! I appreciate the time and effort it took. It’s good to know it’s okay to ask for more toppings. I would have probably asked for a different bun (and better tomato slices) but we took carry out so it wasn’t possible. My husband has been enjoying your sandwiches for over 25 years, and he always makes it a point to stop. With your kind reply to my review he is willing to try again next time. I raised you a star, too.

This is the place to go for ice cream in this area. They make it themselves, and they have a big variety of delicious flavors. Rarely do I have a difficult time choosing what flavor I want, but I actually had to get two flavors. I got root beer float and toffee. So good! A bit on the expensive side, and also they could totally do two flavors in a single scoop, they just don't. Those are my only complaints.

Season 32, Let's Go! Best mint chocolate chip ice cream you've ever tried. Outside seating as well as indoor booth seating. Great little Deli and pizza place!

Our group of eight stopped at this ice cream store. Very impressed with the service! The counter person was quite organized and efficient. He took all eight orders, wrote them down, than prepared each so there was no confusion. The ice cream was excellent. I had the Death Door Chocolate and it was perfect. Lots of chocolate pieces in a chocolate ice cream. Others commented on how good their particular ice cream selection tasted. This was an excellent impulse stop! I highly recommend for all the ice cream lovers.

I've been coming here since I was a child. The ice cream flavors always have a little variation in what's available, so it's always worth a second trip. Classic flavors, regional favorites, and handmade waffle cones make their ice cream section standout over other ice cream shoppes. The sandwiches are hearty with great proportions of toppings. Whether eating in the dining room or outside, the ambiance is welcoming.

Great sandwich, wrap, sub selection also few salads, soup & of course ice cream! We shared a sandwich with side of baby carrots & it was very good. You have about 5 options of sides with your type of sandwich. The Cherry & double chocolate sundae was delicious. Prices are a bit high & most of the kids working there are helpful & efficient. Appeared clean & the historic building & deco reminds me of an old kids camp from years ago. I tried to use my Discover charge card but the young gal forgot to say they don’t accept Discover there. I didn’t see a sign or any type of posting there either. We would definitely return if in the area.

Fantastic selection and tasty ice creams. Located in a 1912 building serving numerous flavors. Loved the mint chocolate chip in waffle cone. Must visit location. Enjoyed the old world charm decorations such as refrigerator, typewriter, vacuum tube radio, etc.

We stopped in for some ice cream. They make the waffle cones in house. The ice cream is delicious and nobody in our group left disappointed.

Yum! They make the waffle cones and many of the ice cream flavors, and thete scoops are generous. The place is busy on a Tuesday midday, and the folks behind the counter are working it! Waffle cones are just as scrumptious as before. Still loving Door Cty Cherry.

After doing research I found that there are VERY few places in Door County that actually make their own ice cream and this is one. Absolutely perfect. Tons of delicious flavors, quick service, three sizes, homemade and not too thick waffle cones right in front of your eyes. Great prices. Water cups (I have to have water with ice cream). Inside is nice and I love the history, but wished we had seen the cute outdoor space to sit. If you want the same ice cream that EVERYONE in the country sells (sorry WI folks, it may be made in WI, but it's mass produced and everywhere) go elsewhere and leave the actual good stuff for the rest of us. ;)

The ice cream and waffle cone were fantastic but the food was not at all. Go here for ice cream!

Everyone who goes to door county says to go to the other ice cream shop that you wait an hour for. This shop makes it's own ice cream, less wait, great portions. You must try this place. Btw they also make pizza.

Fantastic ice cream and sub joint! You can't go wrong with any flavor of ice cream which they have a ton of. Also, I highly highly recommend getting their waffle cones which are made on site. They're very delicious I've been to this place dozens of times and it's never disappointed.

The fresh waffle cones made in house are the best I've ever had! I'm not a big fan of ice cream, but this was the best. Soft texture with great flavor, this' a must stop for ice cream! The whole place was clean and tidy.

Your family wants a pepperoni pizza and maybe some garlic sticks. Solid order, nothing wrong with that but you're an adult with your own thoughts and your own wallet. Go up to the counter, say hello to the no nonsense employee and maybe catch a slight whisper of reggae from the back. Was that Night Nurse? Don't read the menu, don't ask for recommendations, order a Monster Meatball sub on white. Take the first variety of chips they offer because it doesn't matter at this point, they're just background. Let the gang share their pizza and slowly unwrap your sub. Be mindful of the pepperoncini and set them aside to be used as a palate cleanser. You must be sure you're ready to eat because once it's up, you can't set it down until it's gone. Be present. Embrace your emotions and feel your feelings. You're alive. Finish your sub. Take your bites of pepperoncini, fold your empty wrapper, place it back in your bag. On your way out pull out two quarters and add two balls to your growing bouncy ball collection.

Homemade ice cream scooped to order. Had Chambers Island Fudge ice cream, and Strawberry ice cream. Strawberry was a bit bland, fudge ice cream was yummy. Great service from hardworking staff. Pricey but you be the judge if worth it.

We absolutely have to come here on every trip to Door County. This time we brought our grown children and their families. The consensus is 5 stars all around!
