Giant Hypermarket located in Tampines is probably the most visited Giant Hypermarket / Supermarket in Singapore. It is located next to IKEA and Courts Megastore. This hypermarket is loved by majority of people especially with the hypermarket being open 24hrs and thus being capable of serving you at anytime. The hypermarket is always packed at any day, weekday or weekend. There is always a queue and you might have to wait a bit to get your turn at the cashier. After the renovation they have changed the number of changing rooms from two previously to one which can lead to arguments and disagreements with fellow customers. Ailse in between shelves are slightly narrow and can get a bit crowded at times. The clothes selection is nothing great and there is nothing for kids between 9 to 15. The toy selection however is something that a lot of kids look forward to having branded toys such as toys made from hasbro to cheap toys which kids can buy with their own pocket money. At the far end of giant is where the vegetables and wet items are placed. Next to it there is an area titled bakery selling baked goods which people often visit. Giant also has a $1 zone where every item inside is $1, it's worth checking out but you might not find anything interesting there. Giant has two forms of cashiers. Self check out and the usual cashier despite this happening for a seriously long time there isn't much change to the wait in the queues from before. The food court outside offers your usual food court variety of food. Service is good and the place is relatively clean.

Ok I can’t stop saying thank you for being open 24hrs everyday. For the last 2 years I was able to shop to my hearts content whenever I wanted and it’s really ‘whenever!!’ I’ve been there at midnights, 2am, 5am.. anytime to avoid crowds. Grocery shopping in hypermarket with its wide open space is so comfortable. Reminds me of years in NZ.

Will definitely be my last visit here. Disgustingly slow queues for payment (<30 mins) despite on a long weekend where long queues are expected - service staff were nowhere to be found too. Extremely poor planning by management. Most prices when compared to NTUC or Cold Storage are nowhere cheaper as well. Come at your own risk.

Hypermarket for a reason, the place is spacious, with everything you need such as groceries, some electronics, household products, sports, stationery, seafood, fresh meat, car wash items, bowls, plates, hardware and many more. Staff are helpful and approachable if you need help finding the things you need. There is also a Guardian pharmacy 1 level below which is right at the entrance/exit from the open carpark.
