A strong and direct competitor of Shabu-Sai. Tasty shabu shabu at affordable price. Usually crowded at other branches, but the one at Bugis+ was quiet and cosy. Therefore I find the service staffs attentive and friendly. The soups are tasty and dishes are served fast. I like how they have a robot that brings the dishes to your table. I’m a little disappointed with their sauces though, as they only have a few types. The first glass of drinks is free, afterwards you have to top-up $2.90 per pax for free flow of drinks. I ordered their ice green tea and find that it has a weird powdery taste but still ok to drink. I also like how you can order the dishes via a website. It’s better and faster than needing to call for a staff to take your orders. Overall i had a pleasant, affordable and tasty experience.

The beef was not fresh until we complained. Even water need $2.8 per person. The food choices are so limited. The worst is its service. We’re told to make last order and 15min left to leave, only after 40 minutes we started dinner, although we should have 80 minutes!

My friends and I decided to have Suki-Ya for a birthday celebration, however, to our dismay, we were told by the manager, Gabriel, that we could only sit at a corner where the table was shaky, and there was barely any space for us to squeeze through since the tables were too congested and it would be horrid to squeeze past other diners. We saw several other available booth seats and a staff member told us that if Gabriel was not there, she would have sat us there, however, Gabriel would not have let that happen, initially claiming it was only for 6-8 pax (we were 4 pax) and later claiming it’s fully reserved. We then explained to Gabriel that we would have a quick dinner so as to clear the table before reservation for the booths arrived. However he insisted that it was not possible. The additional star they received was due to the kind lady staff (sorry for not getting her name) who was courteous and empathetic. Highly recommend for Gabriel to review his CS tactics.

The taste and quality is really so so given the price is still considered affordable. Pork collar is tough, choices of food is less, soup taste just salty. Honemade steamboat taste better than here.

I love the spicy peanut sauce. Goes well with the cube beef. There is some waiting time to prepare to beef. Cut chili is very spicy. Beware. Have the soy miso based, need additional charge, but i really like it. Cube beef is less fat, like it more than the pork or another beef. Pricing quite okay if for big appetite

I used to like this restaurant but unfortunately, the standard has dropped tremendously. Yes, no doubt it's 'affordable' but the quality and selection has 'deteriorated' so much (as compared to previous times) that it's a bit 'depressing' to see the spread - be it vegetables, meat, sauces and any other else. Let's put it this way, I can find another restaurant with a compatible price and good quality food. I was there on a Saturday late afternoon (they charged dinner price at $28.90, plus - freeflow of drinks at $2.90) and my total bill came up to around $37 something... It's definitely not worth the price. Well, it's not like the food it's absolutely horrible... But I would think twice to visit again since the spread is really not impressive and, they have a 50min time limit. *Oh yah, the tomato base taste 'weird'... The best is still the sukiyaki base!
