Same as my previous reviews, only come to Sakae Sushi for their Foie gras. That's the only dish that's worth eating and to put up with their service. Today just want to be brave and ordered their Oysters as well, biggest mistake!!!! Not fresh and not cheap either. Still give 3 stars because the Foie gras still worth coming for.

Met with smiley and engaging serving even near closing time (9.15pm). Special mention (unfortunately I didn't get his name) to this very friendly staff who said he has only been in the job for 2 weeks. Quick look at the menu and you'll be spoilt for choice. Freshness of food intact and nicely presented. Didn't feel like we were rushed into having our late dinner. Will definitely return to this outlet again! Our sumptuous dinner @$55/pax

Stepped in for the make it yourself sushi. The kids loved that. Tepan beef was a bit chewy, otherwise still acceptable. Lunch portion was small, ok for a lady or a bigger child to eat, men will probably feel not full enough.

Always coming back to the same joint regularly. I've truly enjoyed my experiences here and the staff have always treated me, my friends and family well. Thank you for your kind services! Would definitely recommend. x

Food was pretty slow. Their teppanyaki wasn’t a wow factor compare to their old branch in Sun plaza. The auntie staff was very helpful as the teriyaki stick was very sticky the auntie quickly went over to give some serviette. The tofu skin sushi was pretty bad, the filling wasn’t filled fully and they was quite stingy on the filling. The food overall was pretty normal but definitely better than branches that we went before. Service was the only appealing point. Another point to add, their iPad system was horrible, it hang twice while we were ordering and need the server to come over to restart it. We also had a hard time using the laggy iPad

Recently they updated their menu UI on ipad which is much easier to place an order compared to before. Looks nice doesn't mean good. Small icon with narrow row height (display all food group on the left in a screen) will minimize ordering time which helps more on table rotation for your income! And another new robot delivery system brings better quality of food which made by seaweed which should be dry enough for crispy texture.
I have been Ichiban Boshi customer for many years but now I'm visiting Sake sushi more than Ichiban. Try!

I GUESS ITS TRUE NOWADAYS.
ALWAYS READ GOOGLE REVIEW.
AND ALWAYS GO WITH YOUR FIRST INSTINCT.
1. We should have known at 755pm, the whole restaurant was closed to empty. There were only 3 tables occupied.
2. We should have read the sign when we stood at the entrance the reluctantness to welcome a guest was a pretty strong one. We were ushered to one of the cubical table, but.. we requested to sit along the counter bar. We wanted that Teppanyaki experience.. but.. unfortunately, due to covid regulation, we were seated slightly away from the teppanyaki chef. For this, we understood and complied.
3. All (5) of the services crew were really (really x 5) hostile. The reluctantness to attend to customers was written all over the face. We had to look around and try to get their attention to order despite being the only couple by the bar counter, each one of them would either tried to avoid looking at us, or.. tried to signal another crew to take our order.
4. We ordered a Deluxe Teppanyaki Beef Set, Agedashi Tofu with Pidan Sauce and Surumi Ika Shio for sharing.
When the sides from the Deluxe Teppanyaki Set, the waitress placed it, and went off without cutleries. And it was as though each time we request the necessity, we were thrown a shade of judgement or irritation. At least this was what we felt. Each action was almost filled with reluntanctness.
Surumi Ika Shio (Grilled Squid). After 1 slice of the Grilled Squid's body, we felt something isnt right, it was mushy in the middle and it tasted a little sourish. One of the waiter (a he) happened to be just in front of us, having no choice but to attend to us, we told him of the situation and told him that we had to reject the dish. He took the plate, said he would check with his chef and walked away. He went to the end of the Counter Bar where we were seated to a guy, whom we presumed is the manager / chef (in a different uniform), and the waiter came back to us. "Eh. I spoke to the chef, I ask the kitchen to make one new one for you guys?" We politely rejected the offer and suggested that we would prefer a refund. He just turned and walked back to the end of the counter bar to the same guy, exchanged a few lines and the waiter went behind the teppanyaki bar, and dumped the remaining grilled squid into the bin right in front of us. Nope. No investigation. No apology for the experience. No checking. No explaining. No nothing.
5. The only plus point.. the youngest chinese lady waiter, when we reorder another drink, and she offered to refilled my ice green tea, she checked in with me if I would need more ice, since there were no more ice left.
6. ONE LAST THING. For anyone who ordered their food for pickup, PLEASE DONT. When we arrived at 755pm, shortly after seated, I observed a packet of takeaway food being placed on the pickup table. Only toward / somewhere 9pm, a lady came and picked up that very same packet of takeaway.
PS: I dont know the whole story or when the items were being ordered. But.. I believe that in this difficult times, if customers were to choose your food, the least one should do is to respect the food and the customers. It was what it was witnessed and based on assumption.
Just for disclaimer purposes, despite all of the above, we never once did raise our voices, discriminate anyone or throw a fit. We had very much still thanks them when they presented our food or request of cutleries.
In case you are wondering, yes, the grilled squid was being waived off during the payment. Basically the same male waiter (who attended to the grilled squid) at the payment counter was like "Please check your orders. Thanks." Yup. Haha. That's all. We paid, thanks him and left .. with unsatisfied tummies, really surprised at the customer service and self-blamed for not checking.
So, lesson learnt, always check where you are dining in.
First. And Last. And Never.
