Decent all around and faintly amusing signage on the walls. And features Bee Tai Mak as a carb option, which should definitely be a thing in more places - that rice flour rat’s tail is magic. Braised beef was good and featured a surprising topping of wispy bonito flakes. The braised pork was a little tough, though, and the mala could have been spiced and salted a bit more liberally. Otherwise, a surprisingly quiet eatery for a Saturday night.

Been wanting to try this place and glad we did! We ordered the following and portions were decently fulfilling (not lunch set): 1. Pork meatball pao fan: Rice in soup with generous portion of mince meatballs and onsen egg. Great comfort food and satisfying impression of simple home dish. 2. 72 hour slow cooked beef with noodles comes with onsen egg. YUMS!!! Important that noodles (thick ramen) is springy and cooked to perfection. Flavorful and onsen egg mixed into the noodles just add a nice creaminess to it. The beef is also great as it’s not served typically in chunks but nice slices. Highly recommended! 3. Braised tofu skin and peanuts also nice condiment or side to your meal. 4. Plum drink was very tangy and wife liked it. 5. Honey lemon was the only drink that was disappointing. Too much honey and was quite viscous (thick). But I had a tumbler so manage to just mix it in and then it was okay. Definitely too much honey probably, an accident. Would we come back? YES for sure!!! Not a place to hang out but love the cheekiness and puns around it’s Tie Fun Wan rice bowl concept! IG @ iambruisedlee

Walked past this shop a few times and decided to give it a try. We had the Mala pork collar rice which was pretty embarrassing IMHO. Pork was tasteless and they barely just grill it without seasoning or marinade and pour some mala sauce over it with some peanuts and a runny egg. I wouldnt have served this dish if i ever have a restaurant. We also ordered the meat balls 泡饭 (rice in broth) which was decent. Soup was pretty tasty and meat balls were handmade. We had the chendol as well which was normal at $4. The ambience was alright, with aircon and some music at the backgrd. Overall nothing worth shouting abt and price was not exactly cheap. So unlikely will be back here again.

Came here for dinner on a weekend. Small and cosy place which can seat up to about 10 to 12 people indoor. We got the following items: 1. 72 hour slow cooked beef with rice The meat was rather hard. This was a tad disappointing as we were expecting the beef to be tender. 2. Lu rou fan Homely meal. Pretty comforting food. The amount of meat and other ingredients were little for the price. 3. Braised chicken wings This out to be the star of the meal. The chicken was soft and tender.

We ordered Sweet & Spicy Pork Belly ($10) and the Mala Pork ($10). The pork was tender, the flavour was nice. Sweet & Spicy pork was not your usual taste, this one has a bit of sour which was good.

When you enter, you'll be welcomed with that nostalgic Lou Bak aroma. The portions are decent. Ordered the Lou Bak (braised pork) which was fragrant but abit too salty and not forgetting the meat being abit too tough - was a tad disappointed. The mala pork collar on the other hand was the true winner, superb balance of spice and perfectly goes well with rice or noodle. - Drinks to order - lemon grass - Outdoor sitting available - Order the onsen egg

The 72 hours slow cooked beef rice is perhaps the best offering although the others are also good. Portion is small and comes with a bowl of soup. Each is served in a nostalgic metal rice bowl reminiscent of the 60s. I think price wise it’s not economical. The eatery is within walking distance to the mrt station.

Between Rice and lamian, ordering any of which you will definitely not go wrong! Strongly recommend to add on 63⁰ Egg for an extra flavour and texture. Note: The price ceiling item on menu and I think beef lovers will love it! 72 hrs of slow cooked tender Australian Angus beef, best paired with Japanese pearl rice.
