Greeted with 2 queues when I arrived past lunchtime at 1+ on a weekday, and ended up with a 20 minutes wait for this famed Hor Fun. Service was pretty good for a hawker store, trying to keep up with a good attitude whilst serving the constant stream of hungry patrons 🤤 Hor Fun itself was delectable, although I’m not a fan of black pepper in general, this wasn’t all too overpowering, and definitely comes with the Smokey wok hey taste that they boasts. Pork was really well cooked, tender to the bite. Onsen egg too was well done, adds another layer of sophistication to the bowl of Hor Fun 👍🏻 Will definitely return to try their spring onion rice in future for comparison 😊

Good and tasty Black Pepper Beef Hor Fun and good spicy chilli sauce. Worth the experience, for sure. I ordered the normal on the menu. Should have pay for and include the optional poached egg that looks good with the hor fun.

Best spring onion pork rice I've ever eaten. Simple looking yet the flavor is ever present. The mad wok skills the chef performs for each bowl can be felt in the food. I "think" the fire does actually touch the pork during the wok toss because the wok hei is mad. Thumbs up! *2nd visit* The beef horfun isn't that good. Stick with the pork. The beef was leaning towards tough, gravy was average but the horfun itself was actually pretty good.

Had the black pepper pork bowl $5.50. Was recommended black pepper version over spring onion. Onsen egg could be added for $0.80 it adds a nice texture to the meal. Nice black pepper flavours w/ a bit of heat. The dish was wok fried and topped on a bowl of Japanese short grain rice. Quite hits the spot. I should try their black pepper beef hor fun + onsen egg $6.80 next time.

This is a really great bowl of beef coming in at a super affordable price of only $6 for the beef bowl. It is located on the level 2 of Amoy Food Centre. It can be quite a warm place to have peppery food so you might want to take away this bowl of hot goodness. I had the beef pepper bowl rice and added an onsen egg($0.80) and it is one of the most tender beef slices I had before, and the pepper really zinged through the tastebud. I think the onsen egg is a great addition because it helps to quell the spice so you should add it too. I am seriously contemplating to get the double meat portion after having one bowl.

Some queues during lunch hour at 12pm, but it move relatively quick. Ordered 2x black pepper beef with rice ($5.5),+ 1 with extra meat ($3.5) + onsen egg ($0.60). Oh boy, am i glad to order bigger portion. Servings are really generous, even for the normal portion! Beef is superbly tender and flavourful💯 Infused with black pepper and strong wok hei cooked under that big fire certainly requires insane skill!! Gona come back again to try their spring onion beef.. Felt hungry again looking at the pic😔

Visited during weekday lunch. Stall is located on the second floor. Be prepared for a long queue as the stall is one of the popular ones. They have a simple variation to choose from, between black pepper and spring onion, beef Vs pork, rice or hor fun. The hor fun is silky smooth and not clumpy. Their black pepper sauce is a great balance being not too thick, as a generous coating sauce to both the hor fun and the meat and as a soup you could almost drink. It's not too spicy but you get the lovely aroma of the pepper. I had the pork version and the pork slices were tender and juicy beyond my expectations. Do help yourself to the chilli available at the counter for that firery yet sweet kick. The cabbage adds that nice subtle sweet crunch to an otherwise soft dish. Portion is great and balanced between carbs and protein. Stall accepts payment via QR scans too. Visited on Feb 2021.
