Mikawa Yakitori Bar Bukit Timah

Yakitori and yaki somen whisky were over rated. But their miso tofu, grilled squid and salmon fish head were delicious. Their curry tonkatsu will be a miss. Tried their Hakushika Nadajikomi Dry and I thought its really good. Overall ambience and experience were decent. However I thought it will be a better place for a drink after meal instead of dinner.

A hidden gem in the area! Every dish was really good and we really enjoyed our meal. The yaki tofu miso was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a rich miso flavor. Yaki somen whisky was surprisingly good with its high quality whisky taste. Braised pork had melt-in-your-mouth fats alongside the umami lean meat. Owner was really friendly as well. Definitely will be back often!

A disappointing dinner of katsudon n salmon ikura don. the pork was so tough even though it was thin. the coating was sour and there didn't seem to be onions. the rice was normal not japanese. the salmon don didn't look like a don, seemed like insufficient rice. the salmon was fresh tho. but the okura was extremely salty. one of my worst Japanese meals. even the japanese store at beauty world food centre is better.
