Huggs Cafe

Huggs Coffee didn't allow foldie bicycle to enter their cafe even if the bike were to be folded compactly. It was really disappointing so I went t the cafe opposite them at Maxwell. Their staff told me to leave the bicycle outside the cafe and I told them if I were to do so, the bike might be gone by the time I was ready to leave. The thing which I don't understand was - if they allow customers to bring in a pram (which is physically bigger), why not a foldie? I hope their management would be more flexible in that as long as our belongings don't obstruct the traffic in the cafe, it would be allowed. Customers are reasonable to understand it is important not to obstruct traffic in the cafe and keep our belongings neat and close to us.

Solid coffee joint. Compared to some other more 'viral' coffee joints in town, Huggs seem to be able to get it right. Their menu not only has western style coffee, but also Asian coffee like Kopi-C, or even Yuan Yang. The staff at this outlet have always been really curteous, and friendly as well. While there is no in-door seatings, their outdoor 'al-fresco' sitting areas offers great respite when you have been freezing your butts off in the office. The coffee can get a little sweet sometimes (I'd order siew dai) so just take note, but the staff are really helpful in catering to less diabetes inducing preferences.

My team and I have been going here every morning for the last 6ish months and love it, this is our go to coffee shop every morning to get our daily fix of quality coffee (and on occasion breakfast wraps). The coffee is fresh, hot and delicious and the staff are very friendly (and remember us + our orders). I usually have their Americano where my colleagues have their Kopi. Lately I have been eating their turkey ham and cheese wrap and I am addicted. If you are in the Tanjong Pagar area come and try them out, you won't regret it!!
