The dry meepok is really good with a concoction of sambal, vinegar, and pork lard. We came close to lunch time, by then fishballs already ran out. So it's rather novel tasting fishball mee flavours with wantons and sliced pork toppings. Go try.

One of the good fish balls noodles. Selling fish balls noodles in the day & fish head steamboat at night. Very generous portion for $4. They serve Steambot Fish Head in the evening. Very well flavoured soup based. Fresh fish. Braised duck and vegetable. $35 for the smallest pot. Very affordable!

This fish ball noodle stall was so popular in this market. With the very affordable price from $3 (Small) and $4 (large) per bowl. Variety of different type of noodle from thin to meepok or kwaytiao etc. The flavor of the dry noodles was pretty good with touch of vinegar. If you order the soup version, you won't taste a blend taste of soup, b'cos the soup is very sweet and tasty too. Overall, if you like fish ball noodles, this stall is really worth your time for a visit. 👍🏻

It's on the other side of the Whampoa food centre, away from where all the main crowds are at. I was surprised by the people walking all the way through to this stall just for the Fish Steamboat, because there were no other stalls opened on Monday evenings. Was unfortunately a little disappointed by the fish steamboat, especially when I compare to the others around Singapore that I've tried myself. Good wok hei, quick service, and reasonable hawker fish steamboat prices. That said, they don't have much choice of food, just fish steamboat (with a few choices of fish), mui chai, braised egg, pork jelly and braised duck. The mode of delivery is cute, with uncles and aunties pushing carts over to ask you what else you'd like to add to your fish steamboat. Fish Steamboat doesn't have a choice for just meat, so you'd have to get meat + fish head. Soup is not sufficiently thick, and even the top up is just water, not soup. Every mouth felt like I had to spit something out, whether ginger slices or bones, which destroys the experience for me. Braised items are average at best. So personally, am unsure about the appeal. It's good, but not great, for me.

Strong salted fish taste in the soup which kinda overpowered flavours/sweetness from other ingredients like white cabbage and yam. Probably can add more freshness like tomato into the soup. Generous portion of fresh sliced fish meats and affordable. Expect long waiting time of about an hour or longer.

Saw that the entire hawker centre was dominated by this stall so thought it might be good. Was disappointed sadly - fish wasn’t that fresh, soup wasn’t robust, overall tasted like food court standard fish soup. Not worth the price and the 1hr wait :/

Traditional fish head steamboat, they still wok hei the raw veg to give its flavour before putting steamboat! Need not say the charcoal and the fire give it so much more character and flavours! BUT the down side is that, please be prepare to wait for a long time depending how busy they are. Worth a visit for sure and personally I will be back!

Great bowl of dried meepok. Traditional Teochew style. Inexpensive at $3 with the amount of ingredients given. The lard tasted so good when eaten with the noodles. Worth the wait in queue though does not take very long. Caution....Be mindful of their opening hours.
