Good place for a quiet evening and the tres leches served over here is one of the best cakes I have ever had. The owners and the rest of the staff were very frndly.
Their carne asada is great.
My friday getaway. I LOVE this place! I always ask for my carne asada and share a pitcher of white Sangria with my co-workers. Does not have happy hour specials but the pitcher is definitely a bargain. Service was speedy. The patio is very lively Fridays and lots of people eat here, I will definitely be back soon!
After living in Tucson, Arizona AKA the home of Mexican food for the past 4 years.. I have yet to find a restaurant that even compares to Mi Rancho. I have told almost everyone I know about how amazing Mi Rancho is and can not wait to someday go back to MD and enjoy some authentic Mexican food.
Great Food and Atmosphere. We are Rio Grande fans, but I think the beef fajitas are better at MiRancho. The salsa is good, but I like the chunky, roasted salsa at Rio Grande better. We were there on a very cold night and sat outside in the plastic enclosure, which is the best place to be, but the heaters can make the room a little too hot.
There is nothing like heading over to Mi Rancho for Happy Hour outside.
I keep coming back. Mi Rancho is a long-time favorite restaurant to which I keep returning. I often wonder why it's not rated more highly among the Washington area's TexMex restaurants, for I find that the food is consistently good, with many special items that cannot be found in other Mexican restaurants (e.g. the seafood soup, mesquite grilled fish, etc.), and their paper thin tortilla chips are the best I've ever eaten. The atmosphere, is laid-back and festive, great for families and couples alike--especially the huge outdoor dining area. My only criticism is that their margueritas seem to come purchased in a bottle premixed, rather than freshly made. All in all it's nice to find a "real" restaurant located away from the plasticity of Silver Spring's Franchise Row.
Wow. This was a great experience. The food was out of this world. If your looking for quiet night, this is not the place, but if you looking for a place with great food and family oriented it is. Went when it was little colder and the patio was enclosed. The portions were large and very tasty. Prices were reasonable for the amount and quality of food.
Fresh ingredients and very friendly service made our group of 10+ very happy. The soft tacos were filled with perfectly seasoned beef and the ceviche was tart and crisp. Chips and fresh pico de gallo salsa were always kept full at the table. On a hot summer night their patio is the perfect place to be. Try the sangria!
The food is pretty tasty but a little pricey. I recommend the chicken enchiladas but they are definitely not very traditional.
The best. They say it on their website, and it's really true. This is the best Mexican food I've ever had. We sat outside on the patio on a warm summer night, and it was great. Very reasonable prices. You must eat here!
Mi Rancho is a beloved Tex-Mex restaurant owned by a family and is a Silver Spring area staple, known for its consistently bustling environment, top-notch service, and high-quality food. I've had the pleasure of dining here many times, and each visit has been exceptional. Their frozen drinks are delightful, and we had the chance to try the chicken quesadilla and steak fajitas, which arrived sizzling hot and incredibly fresh. What's particularly charming is the manager, who always takes the time to greet our table and adds a touch of humor to enhance our experience. Abraham was our server, he was very attentive and fast. Their fresh homemade flour tortillas are the icing on the cake. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and great menu prices I highly recommend this place for a fantastic dining experience.
I went to this place a few weeks ago and had an amazing experience. Went back today with family and it was just as great! The food is amazing, drinks are flavorful, and the atmosphere is nice! Would definitely recommend the enchiladas. I got a cheese as well as a chicken and it did not disappoint.
PS. The fried cheesecake is one of a kind!
I had the Fajitas Sampler. It had ribs, chicken, and steak. I enjoyed the Cadillac margaritas and regular margaritas. I finished my meal with the fried Ice-cream dessert. I'm thinking about going back as I leave this review.
10/31/23 Update: My new regular spot. I tried the chicken quesadilla & fried cheesecake. The Cadillac margaritas is nice too.
Decent Tex-Mex food served. I really liked the michelada and the tortillas. My husband got the fajitas, it was tasty. I picked plato maria, I don't recommend. The enchiladas were dry and not very good. Same for the tamal. Same for the rice... Expect a swimming pool of cheese on the Chile relleno!
It's a nice restaurant, very spacious. The waitress was polite and efficient too. I'd like to come back but definitely trying something else. Creo que cocinan la carne muy bien y quizas hacen las tortillas en casa pero no tienen buenas salsas 🥲.
The food was so good, perfectly cooked, moist, and flavorful. Everything was delicious from the chips and salsa to even the lemonade. The atmosphere was fun and inviting. I highly recommend MI Rancho!
A fantastic Latin dining experience. The food slapped and the service was bussin'. I ordered the guacolme appetizer and received a scoop of guac on a plate.... I thought it was an interesting presentation option - but it was so good, I licked the plate clean (something that is difficult w/ a bowl).
Visit during lunch and save a bunch!
They sing a lit of happy birthday songs, so if you're into that you won't be dissapointed!
Went to Mi Rancho for the first time and was really impressed. The daughter had a fish tacos, and I had a Chile rellaño with refried beans. Also had a simple margarita on the rocks. The food was authentic and the vibe was great. The staff was friendly and attentive. My one criticism is the salsa tastes like Pace. They serve great chips, and they should have great salsa. They also make homemade tortillas.
Delicious chicken soft tacos! The tomatoes were fresh, plenty of sour cream and the soft taco shell was sooo good.
Lots of outdoor seating and good amount of indoor seating. Clean and super friendly service. We did not order drinks but they have pitchers of frozen margaritas that looked good.
Endless chips and salsa with meal. Will be back for more of those soft tacos!
Walkable from Silver Spring metro station.

We spent few hours in our company party here. Everything was great. But the drinks were too sweet. We had Margaritas and Mojitos. It was sweat and didnt even taste any alchohol on it. Food was ok. Staff was very friendly and chexked on us every 10 to 15 mins. Place was pretty busy for lunch and had heaters all over the place to keep inside warm.
Reliable neighborhood spot serving Tex-Mex favorites and margaritas in a fun atmosphere. Choose between the massive outdoor covered patio and warm indoor dining room for your setting. Favorites include the taco dinner, Laredo platter and fajitas. A short walk from Silver Spring metro and downtown Silver Spring. Great for families, big parties, and watching World Cup.
