My husband works on the mountain and has eaten there a few times. He's been telling me we need to try it out. We went yesterday and loved it! Y'all have the best chicken salad I've ever had. We bought a pound to bring home! :)

The food is always delicious! Especially love the chicken salad. And they cater!! If you need food for a party, give Nancy a call. They have many party food items that aren't normally available in the restaurant. Southern Star also can provide great help to assist during your party.

Southern Star's macaroni and cheese is the best comfort food ever! The salmon is my absolute favorite.
Where do begin? Southern Star take-away is a staple in my kitchen. The chorizo mac&cheese, the southwestern pasta, the couscous, well everything is delicious! And the desserts--oh my goodness! Love, love, love. ❤️

Dear Southern Star, you are by far the best restaurant in Chattanooga and if I could make time to eat there everyday I would. But please answer one question for me why on Earth would you have mashed potatoes on the menu and not offer gravy to go on them? That's like cake without icing. Once again I think you are a fantastic restaurant with a wonderful staff, but seriously....WHERE IS THE GRAVY?!?! :)

Poppyseed chicken and sweet and sour pork terrible. Desserts and side dishes/salads were delicious.

I try to come Wednesdays for their Rooster sandwich or their Hamburger. Every day they have a different Blue Plate special of their delicious homemade meals. A must if you are looking for good food in the area. You can call to hear the menu of the day.
I frequently get the Blue Plate special of the day. It is loaded up quickly (three sides and a meat). Great value for $ 10 or 12 bucks and taste close to home made, never had anything bad. Large protions, and I am a big eater.
