Review The German Cafe - Sierra Vista

Excellent food, friendly service, very worth the wait. We thoroughly enjoyed the schnitzel, and I thought the Spätzle and hot potato salad were some of the best I've ever had.

This is a little German restaurant with lots of charm. Definitely prepare for a wait, but a wait well worth it because the food has so much quality and tastes extremely authentic. They were out of a lot of things but after eating the food it made sense, it seems like just about all of it is made from scratch so try to be patient if at the given day you visit they don't have everything on the menu, and finally the waitresses were super kind. Definitely a unique and delicious little visit if you've got time and are open to lots of different things.

This is the #1 rated restaurant in Sierra Vista on Trip Advisor. Last night I wanted solid meal and something I rarely have. The waitress took care of everyone and she is amazing. I was interested in a bratwurst with curry. She offered me the version of two brats with curry, no pretzel bun. Excellent. I splurged with the mixed berry cheese cake. I had thought to go elsewhere for dinner tonight and try another local restaurant. That didn’t workout. I was back here again for a different dish. The waitress had no trouble guiding me to another outstanding choice that will fuel my bike ride tomorrow. There are reasons this restaurant is rated #1. Try it!

I enjoyed our visit. Wait staff was up front that food would take a while, and it did. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, especially the spatzle. Hubby didn't like the sweet and sour red cabbage - said it didn't have the flavor he expected. We got Bavarian pretzels to go, and they were very good. Service was excellent.

This was such a great surprise. The food was excellent, the service outstanding. We split a lemon cheesecake that was out of this world. They make all their baked goods there. Sierra Vista is about 1 1/2 hours from where we live but I would not hesitate to go back. Can't give enough kudos! If your disappointed then you should stick to McDonalds.❤❤❤❤

One of my favorite local restaurants! My favorite dish is the onion gravy schnitzel with spaetzle and garlic mashed taters... extra onion gravy. Wish they'd can that gravy and sell it. So freaking good. Desserts are always great too.

My grandma treated us here for a late valentines day. We almost went to olive garden, but I would of regretted it. The staff was attentive and friendly. The food came out hot and tasty! They have tons of sweets if your into that sort of thing. My only regret is I didn't get any photos of the food! But I will be back, next time I will bring a sweet tooth.

Wiener Style Schnitzel with Spatzle and Cucumber Salad, and Jagerschnitzel with Sweet and Sour Red Cabbage

Started visiting this cafe at its old location next to the pub. Was always hard to find not being from Sierra Vista, but was always worth it. The food is amazing and the staff, who are clearly of German decent always added to the atmosphere. Now that they have moved to their new, more accessible location not a thing has changed. Still a small cozy atmosphere with the german decor and friendly staff. Still the same awesome food. If ever in Sierra Vista and would like a taste of Germany this is definitely the place to visit.

I happened on this place on a drive through Sierra Vista and I am soooooo glad I found it. Wonderful food and service. The onion gravy is to die for!!!!!

This wonderful place is a diamond in this town. The food and service are amazing,and it's very cozy inside. I truly recommend this place.

We stopped in here based on the strength of the ratings and the restaurant absolutely lived up to the excellent reputation. There was a bit of a mix up in the kitchen and we both ended up with the jagerschnitzel (potato pancakes, spaetzle and the great tasting dumplings as sides) and it was one of the best I have ever had. This is great solid German food, not 'light fare' so you should be hungry when you walk in the door! But you will be rewarded. Service was very attentive and relatively quick, but this is a very small place and you may have to wait to be seated.

Loved it. Had missed "real" german food since returning to states. Jägerschnitzel, bavarian pretzels, german potato salad, german coleslaw and the obatze(spelling?) are very good. Highly recommend to all, especially to ones that have lived overseas and love German food.👌🏼👍🏽

We found this gem on Yelp. Since we love German food and this place had great reviews we stopped. Yes it is small, but the food is awesome! Well worth the wait, you won't be disappointed!

The food is amazing and the staff is incredible! Even got to chat with the owner, Annette. This is a very friendly place to eat with delicious and authentic German cuisine at good prices!

I loved the food. I ordered Yeager Snitzel to go and German Chocolate Cake. Everything was very delicious. I diffently would recommend this Restaurant to all of my family and friends. Excellent food and very helpful cashier.

Thanks again for a wonderful meal and excellent service! We spent my Hubby's birthday in Bisbee but saved our appetites to eat at your restaurant. We were greeted right away by your friendly staff just as soon as we entered and were seated right away. We ordered coffees and they were served in nice thick mugs that held the heat admirably well. We ordered a Zweibel Rahmschnitzel and a Jagerschnitzel and loved every bite. Generous portions so we loved those bites for lunch today too from those takeout boxes. The coffee refills came generously and often without having to ask and the staff came by several times making sure we were happy with the food. What a wonderful place to spend a birthday. It was peaceful, quiet with no rush. Both Hubby and I spent a total of 10 years in Rammstein AFB and at Stuttgart so we appreciate both great German food and the excellent service. We live right outside of Tucson but we'll be back for more of that great food & service on our next trip to Sierra Vista!

Love this place! The food is always incredible, the staff friendly and the atmosphere quaint! Also, really like the new location. Did I mention the food is always perfect?!

Home made German food....da best! Service was spot on. Lived in Germany for 10 years in ..hessen...balveria....swabian...great food, Have to try the deserts next time!

The jagerschnitzel with mushroom gravy was very flavorful and tender. Julika and the other waitresses treats you like an invited guests to a party, and they are the hosts. They are inviting, helpful, and caring... which makes the experience all the more worth wild. Please give this cafe a try!!

90 minutes after leaving the German Cafe, I’m burying my face in the toilet. Really disappointing to get sick like this, in addition to how slow the service was. I would not recommend this, and will not be returning.

First visit was yesterday. Delicious. They even had gluten few options too which makes me a happy girl. Reminds me of when I was a child in Germany. Great little place.
