Fantastic little gem in hidden in a strip mall near the Hollywood Casino. Great menu, great service. I'll be here for breakfast again next time I'm in town, for sure!
Always drive by and decided to stop for a Saturday morning breakfast...the crepes were fantastic and the service was above and beyond. I’ve heard they have great soups so I’ll be back for lunch next time!

Breakfast is awesome! Stuffed French toast is my favorite. Lunch and dinner are average, but breakfast is da bomb!

I live in Shorewood and have been to Happy Place many times since it opened. My husband and I have never been disappointed with the service or the food.
A cool little place with the small town vibe. Came in early to avoid the waits as other reviews had commented about and was able to be seated upon entry. Our waitress was wonderful! She had a busy section and seemed to be one of the only wait staff in the restaurant. She crushed it! If this was a review about the service 5 stars all the way. The reason for the deduction was we went for dinner and their MASSIVE menu led me to choose a fish meal. My fault for choosing fish at a place like this but that's what I felt like eating. Not a good choice, not the worst ever but definitely don't recommend the fish..... My wife got the country fried steak and loved it! Will definitely be back to try something more normal, like a burger.

The food was good and the prices were good. One thing that happened when I went into the ladies restroom was one of the employees was in there talking on her cell phone and it made me very uncomfortable. I did mention it to the manager because it's not something that an employee should do. If she needed to use the phone she should have told the manager and then used it outside. The bathroom was completely inappropriate. Our server was slow and she forgot us. We had to ask the hostess to get our check. My friends that we went with a regulars there and they said that the service is not normal for that place. Like I said in the beginning the food was good and the prices were good.
The atmosphere was very comfortable, pleasant, and the waitress was very kind, as well as efficient in serving our food and bringing drink refills. I have to say the food was marvelous I had a breakfast skillet, and my friend had blueberry crepes. The food was so full of flavor, and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant.

First time there. My breakfast was good not great. Don't trust northerners with biscuits and gravy. You'll always be disappointed. The rest was ok. My wife got the poor boy with fries. Both were very good. I think I'll stick to the sandwiches next time. Service was good but not overly friendly. No complaints at all just not stellar. Very typical cafe atmosphere.
