Sassafras Restaurant

I opted to stay in Shelton, CT when I had some business in Stratford, CT. I searched for a suitable breakfast place on my return tip in order to get filled up with some good food and coffee. Turns out that Sassafras was pretty much right on my way home. It's definitely a quiet, unassuming place that's sort of hidden behind a gas station and in another weirdly concocted shopping complex. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and offered any open table in the place. It was about 15% full when I arrived at around 9:30 AM. The server, who was outside at the time of my arrival, came to my table a short time later and took my order. I just ordered something simple ... 2 eggs over medium, bacon, home fries and rye toast. Before my food arrived, I tried some of their coffee, which was quite good and also in a nice size cup. The food arrived quickly and cooked to my liking. The potatoes were especially good, as this is the flavor and texture of potatoes that I like. They weren't a crispy, dried out mess of starch. Golf claps all around! I enjoyed another cup of coffee and was on my way. I will try to make it back here again if I'm ever in the area.

If your a person who needs a job don’t work here . I see why they are always looking for people they keep turning people away . On top of that the owner will show you around where they keep things and lie to your face about a schedule. When you have a restaurant family own or not you don’t have your mom text the person as a owner grow some guts and tell the person .I’m Guessing not every one is qualified to have there own restaurant or can handle it . Smh

A very cozy place to have your breakfast, no matter what time you wake up! Since they are close at 3 p.m., you can enjoy the food from 7:30 a.m. when all the birds sing around! The service is excellent and swift! I recommend this place as a great one either you are alone or with a family! Their blueberries-pancakes are the best ever! Thanks you for the service!
