Review Northside New York Deli - Shelby Township

The food was good, but the prices not so much. They charged me $4.79 for a side salad, which I wanted as a side item with my burger. Also, when they ran my card, the total on The paper was higher than the total on the bill I received at my table. The young Asian woman Who was a server and cashed me out, explained afterwards that the credit card machine adds a fee. When I complained about not being told about the fee before being charged, and the price of a salad, the young lady had nothing to say. But as I was leaving, she turned to the person next to her and exclaimed ‘Wow’ as if to say, can you believe that guy? Very poor customer service. It is to be expected of someone who is probably a teenager, but the restaurant may want to consider who they put in charge of cashing out their customers. And they may want to use more care, in the way that they speak to the people who frequent their restaurant. I’ve been to this restaurant at least eight times in the last year, and this was my first bad experience. I will be returning to the restaurant during the week, when I can have a discussion with the adult staff, who may be more interested in making sure their customers are happy.

Hi just had lunch yesterday Elaine is a breath of fresh air. So nice to have her wait on us. Don't have to ask for anything. The food is always awesome love the deli. You go girl love you 💗.

Must be under new management. Use to love this place. Order an open face turkey sandwich and it was a complete joke. Didn't even have 2 ounces of turkey on it. Had a quarter cup of gravy on it and didn't even cover the bread. Potatoes were two very small scoops. Highly disappointed to say the least. 😡

The food here is excellent. I recommend the pastrami sandwich and Brooklyn fries. Our waitress Maranda was the best. She takes care of everything before you even know you needed it and makes the perfect French onion soup.

I would give a zero if I could!!!!!! Service Was great fish and chips were nasty. I picked up a piece and watched the grease poor out What they call breading was so tough and greasy you struggled cutting fish with a knife. I told my friend from Florida that The fish are Now York deli was great in St Clair shores but this one in 23 mile rose lousy . We are going to the St Clair Shores.

Eh, ordered 2 sandwiches and th corned beef was just ok, lots of fatty peices. For some reason they only gave us 1 half pickle and 1 small container of thousand island dressing. Barley enough dressing for 1 sandwich. And the french onion soup was as salty as an ocean with two tiny croutons with the smallest amount of cheese. Place seems to me to be on the cheap side with high prices. The high prices would be justified if they stepped up their quality and actually give you the side that come each sandwich. Will never go back. The New York deli off of garfield is way better, but bread basket is hands down the best. House of Rueben off of 16mile and Vandyke blows this place out of the water! Jet's pizza has a better Reuben sandwich, full of meat and coleslaw and tone of dressing. This place is a hard pass!

First time here! I tried the French Onion Soup and Shrimp in a Basket; WoW! Yummy! Great hostess and super fast service with tons of yummy dishes!

Food was good fry's not so good service for us was lacking needed drink refilled waitress stood end of counter and ignored us pretty much for the price u pay to eat lunch there should be better service sandwich was good fry's was cold and small portion especially for the price but maybe just a bad day I will try again

We normally have a very good experience here but the last two times we have gone the food has been horrible. The Hamburger for full of grease to the point it soaked through the bun. The chili was sitting in grease. I don't think we will be returning again

Great restaurant with friendly and attentive staff.. The waitress and chefs are always happy to accommodate our little one's picky eating style. The atmosphere is very family inviting while loving the open kitchen style. Also the great tasting food is always spot on.

This place!!!! Clean, bright, fantastic food, huge portions, reasonable prices, really nice people.
