Eaten here several times and seems better each visit. Great service and food! Cannot complain. The fajita burrito and chicken fajita are always excellent!

Had a great meal service was great! I appreciate the generous portions of the fresh salsa and the Diablo salsa was good as well not too hot but had a kick.

San Felipe in Shallotte is one of the absolute best authentic Mexican restaurants I have ever eaten at!!! This review is for our July, 2022 visit.
Salsa and chips - The salsa was excellent for both flavor and texture! - I'm not a fan of fried chips, but these were not overdone, so they worked well. We got a full refill on salsa and then got another one to use with our meal. It's that good!
Entrees - We ordered 3 different entrees - The only one we didn't care much for was the shredded chicken (watery, spices/flavor not to our liking). The steak-based entrees were excellent in both quality and flavor. All of San Felipe's cheeses and sauces are top notch! That really added to the culinary experience. Yum!
Dessert - We ordered a dessert and the portion size was huge! Plenty to share at our table and tasted really good.
Service - We had a super-attentive and kind waitress in every regard. 100% excellent service!

Food is delicious, they have some pretty cool decor as well. My favorite are the tacos, watch out for the endless chips and salsa!
Visited for the first time with my parents while camping. This is one of the places they like to eat at while at the beach.
A Mixed Bag - But Mostly Good
The restaurant was very busy at lunchtime today (Sunday), but our server was attentive to our table. He made sure the chips and salsa (both very good) were always filled and served our food and drinks quickly and efficiently. The Shrimp Fajitas, Enchiladas and Chimichangas were all up to par. The Huevos Rancheros were not. The eggs were cooked like an omelet - and extremely dry and tasteless - even though they were smothered in a Mole Sauce. I'm not sure what the other items (sauces?) on the plate were, but they were not good. We will definitely be back, but no more Huevos Rancheros for us.
Service was good and I liked the food but it did not seem as good as the last several times I was there. I will go back soon and give them another chance before I decide. Service and price were good.

From the wait staff to the food and drinks, by far the best service in the area. Their street tacos are fabulous. I can't wait to stop in again next year to enjoy another round of corn! Thank you for the amazing meal!
