Ay Jalisco

Ay Jalisco is a family-owned business serving great Mexican cuisine. The service is great and the staff is very friendly. They will go out of their way for you. The tortilla chips are made fresh daily and are usually served warm. Ay Jalisco can get very busy on Friday and Saturday nights, but you will get seated. Our favorite dishes are Durango Enchilada, Ay Jalisco Burrito, Nachos, and the Colorado Burrito. Their salads are also very good. Their Happy Hour is after 3pm with 2 for 1 drinks. A fun place with a great atmosphere.

Amazing place. I have never left a bad review. But I have had it with their bar server. Not sure of his name, older gentleman. Second time with a horrible attitude but tonight he crossed the line. Very respectfully I asked for my daughter drink to be removed from our tab since it was never brought out after asking twice for it. My sister in laws dinner never made it out ither. After telling him nicely that we did not appreciate his attitude he stated the “kitchen was not only for us l, and that he had a whole restaurant waiting on orders” I’m sorry but if you dislike you job he needs to find a new one. Not fair that because of one employee my family nor I wish to return. He has done this to friends and other family member who have also attended. He just plain has a horrible attitude when asked for something or mentioning an error. Horrible employee.

After years of good food and service the party is over. We have ordered take out from here every week for almost 5 years. Recently we ordered our norm. Fajitas for two, we get home from the 26 mile round trip and there are no tortillas. I call to tell them, the young girl offers only for us to return to the store to pick them up. It takes 45 minutes to do that. The food would be cold. So we just go without. Next week we call and a man answered asking us to hold. We wait, and wait, about 8 minutes while listening to them talk in the background. Finally, I hang up and redial. This time they pick the phone up and set it back on the counter without a word spoken. We wait and wait 7 more minutes. Finally we hang up and go elsewhere. Next week we try again. We order, drive the 26 miles round trip and get home to find no tortillas again. I didn't even call this time. It seems that the place is skipping things like basic politeness and checking to be sure the order is filled correctly. The management is not holding up the old standards.

The food was very good. We were seated in less than 10 minutes last night and the hostess was good. However, once we got to the table, we were ignored for over 20 minutes. No chips, no waitress, no one stopped by the table. Finally we went to find someone and they brought us chips. 30 minutes in and still no drink order. In desperation, we went to the hostess who was great and she ended up taking our order. We never saw any waitress until the very end of the meal suddenly she shows up and takes away our plates and hands us a bill. Never once stopped by until the very end of the meal. So if you enjoy good food and are very laidback and aren’t on any timelines you might like it. But it was pretty annoying to be ignored most of the meal.

Not like it used to be. Used to love it but we visited for the first time in a year or 2 and were super disappointed. Chips were extremely stale (on a Saturday at noon you would think they'd have fresh chips), the salsa tasted off, the prices were high considering the skimpy portions. Not sure if it's under new management or if the quality just went downhill but I'd suggest going elsewhere.
