After a friend told me about the Thai dish khao mun gai, I sought out a version in Seattle. And I am very glad that I did. This little hole-in-the-wall joint serves an excellent version! The chicken was soft, juicy, and tender. The garlic sauce was like fireworks in my mouth - spicy, sour, and garlicky. The winter melon soup had a great chicken broth base. A few cucumber slices to cool my mouth and I was a very happy man. They appear to only do takeout, but there are abundant picnic tables outside.

Delicious little hole in the wall! Stumbled upon this place tonight looking for something easy and cheerful. I found it. Everything was take away even if you ate there you got it in microwaveable containers. Kind of like Snap Kitchen but less corporate. The Penang curry was good with enough spice to warm me up but not kill me. The winter melon soup was comforting. Good little place with character. I enjoyed my meal outside using the public tables. The street that runs in front of the shop is converted to dining when the bus route isn’t running. Great planning with this one.

Not the best. Pricey for the portions. Their staple dish, Khao Man Gai - isn’t good. The sauce isn’t chili like and not authentic. The meat comes with lots of pieces of chicken liver which wasn’t seasoned well so it tasted off. This wasn’t mentioned in the description. The few pieces of chicken tasted bland and not fresh. The Pad See Ew was bland as well. Fried egg alone cost $3, which is very expensive compared to other restaurants. The chicken that came with this dish was tough and chewy - very hard to eat. Dishes were priced around $13 for a very small portion. You would be able to get bigger portions (enough for two meals) for the same price points at other Thai restaurants outside of the U District. Not sure how these restaurants thrive here where their customers are mainly (poor) students. Owners are nice though.

I need to share about how awesome these take home Thai curry kits are! I'm so glad Mark started making these. They last for a long time and are super convenient for having his delicious cooking whenever ever you get a craving! My friend who lived in Thailand for many years loved getting this as a gift from me and she says the flavors really remind her of authentic curry! I bought these again for her and Mark was so kind as to give me a carton of the coconut milk that he personally swears by using! As well as Thai iced tea to go!!! Mark is both kind ultra kind and makes really really good food!

One of the best khao mun gai I’ve had in Pacific Northwest. Great proprietors and very welcoming service. Hope to return soon!

I arrived at 2:55 not knowing they close for lunch at 3:00, and they still happily accommodated me. I ordered the Ka Pao Gai. Delicious, flavorful, and just spicy enough. There was nice outdoor seating. My only complaint would be the excessive plastic packaging, would love to see them switch to eco-friendly biodegradable alternatives.

Food is amazing. But literally every time I go it’s closed when it should be open according to their own schedule posted not only online but also in front of the store. The owner need to either change the schedule or open your restaurante on time.

I had Ka Pao Gai spicy with chicken and egg! Very delicious and authentic, felt like I was in Thailand. Also we were given a complimentary coconut pudding!
