I absolutely loved the food here! The ingredients were super fresh, the dishes reasonably priced and the atmosphere pretty cozy.
I would definitely go back and I would recommend this restaurant to any of my friends.

BOL is a Vietnamese restaurant that does lots of non-traditional and fusion type foods. Their portions are very big and their prices are decent. They have lots to choose from on their menu, including vegetarian meals and desserts as well. The staff here is nice and it can get busy here, especially when Portage Bay is packed and people don't want to wait to eat. I'd definitely recommend their fried rice and their beignets and delicious even though they are more like biscuits then fluffy pillows.

Flavors that took me back to my trip to Vietnam here in Seattle! Taylor was an amazing host for us and the food was safe for a Celiac. Best Vietnamese ice coffee that I have had short of being there. Will be returning soon 👌

What a wonderful restaurant! We stopped in for a weekend brunch and were so impressed by the food, the atmosphere, and the service. The outdoor patio is the perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends, and the food itself is really excellent — we especially enjoyed the kalbi short ribs and the fish sauce wings, but everything we tried was great. Lots of traditional American brunch favorites on the menu, too — we will have to come back to try it all!

My husband and I have been living in this neighborhood for over a year and we couldn't believe it's taken us this long to discover BOL! After returning from a long trip, we ordered delivery and the driver went beyond the call of duty and dropped off our hot food directly in front of our third-floor apartment door. It arrived before we even got home and we were beyond amazed at the quality of vegetables and MSG-free broth!!!! I've been suffering bad reactions to MSG at many other restaurants nearby so finding BOL is such a game-changer for us and a new favorite staple.

Accidentally stumbled on this place trying to look for portage bay. It didn’t look like a traditional Vietnamese restaurant. Really trendy, open bar and dining area - it felt like LA. Was wondering if the food was going to be authentic and we ordered the rice dish: com tam trout
Was better than expected! Fried to perfection and the bones were edible. Love this spot and the atmosphere. Will come back and take advantage of the bottomless brunch mimosas next time
Note: not sure why it was called “com tam” (aka broken rice), it was just normal rice 😅. Tasted fine, but just a note for the owners.

Lunch and dinner options are good, but weekend brunch is the way to go. Large, satisfying portions of delicious food, and Bloody Marys / Mimosas to pair. Great value and always friendly service.

Apologies for the less than pretty picture. My husband is having chemo over at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. We're here for 7-9 hours every infusion day, 5 days in a row, and he was really needing a solid pick me up meal for lunch - something more substantial than what SCCA has, and something comforting.
We picked BOL from DoorDash, and I'm thrilled with the choice.
The bahn mi are exactly what you'd expect, but with thoughtful wrapping and dipping soup provided. The skewers have that crispness you expect from the grill, but the meat seemed marinaded in some kind of sauce that came through every few bites which kept it interesting and extra tasty. The vegetarian rolls were not *crispy* but they were definitely good and worth getting again.
The sauce for the skewers and rolls were also excellent.
The food was packaged in a way that kept things from getting messy, which is always appreciated for delivery food!
It has been a tough day and BOLs food was all together exactly the meal we needed. We plan to order again, and encourage you to as well!

This place has the BEST pho I’ve ever had. My partner and I think it is even better than some much more expensive places we have been to. The broth tastes so delicious, complex, and flavourful, and doesn’t even have any MSG in it.
Only complaints:
1- I wish the eggs were soft boiled, because after sitting in the hot broth they turn into rubber balls.
2- most other things on the menu are unfortunately not quite as good as the pho (Although the house-made breakfast sausage is spectacular).
Bottom line is - if you want some good pho, get it at BOL!

Lovely brunch! French toast with lightly candied ginger, congee, a Roosevelt breakfast that is a big plate of love and many delightful cocktail options.
Pictured is the sriracha bloody Mary in back and the Saigonese coffee (hot) in front. The hot coffee is a DIY assemblage as their standard mugs are too small for all that goodness. Order it cold if you want it mixed for you. It was fun to play with the booze ratios through the meal.
Great out door eating space that is off the sidewalk so you don't feel like you're in the middle of pedestrian traffic. Good shade for hot days, heater set up for chilly ones.
Next to Portage Bay Cafe, skip their line and try Bol instead.

Delicious, fresh and quick. The tofu was cooked well, the sauces were exquisite. The broth served with the Bahn Mi was so tasty. A great place for food.

Every time we eat here I am so satisfied. The gluten free bread for Ban Mi is decent, the sandwich is amazing, the broth it is served with is out of this world.
I can't wait for fall as I have a go to Pho place now. It is so clean and silky and full of depth of flavor.
Tried a cocktail tonight for the first time, super refreshing, well balanced and beautifully presented.
We have kids and they are surprisingly kid friendly for what appears to be a small trendy restaurant.
If we lived closer we would undoubtedly eat here often. As it stands we've made the trip 3 times.
