Really great selection of Belgian and other European beers. Not too much on draft but bottles are fantastic. Atmosphere is very dive-y, which wasn't my cup of tea, but service was very friendly and knowledgeable and again, excellent bottle selection.

Excellent selection of Belgian beers. Comfy dive bar vibes. If you're looking for something down to earth, you've come to the right place. Board games are included!

If you are passing by, look through the window, and decide to walk in, you'll get exactly what you're looking for. If you decide to keep walking, you won't be missing much.
This place is like Moe's Tavern, except with a good beer selection. There's no food, but you can bring some in.
Theres some board games to play - classic (chess and go), or party games (say anything, pictionary, etc). Or, you can chat with friends and strangers, or read something.
The large front windows make you feel like you're never too far from the street and makes for good people watching.

the ole watering hole is open!
good lord, has it been a toughie catching a local dive open as speckle and drake closed a few months back. i’m relieved it’s open! i felt lucky to get a chance and enjoy a cider in the neighborhood’s corner. i rejoiced from across the room as a friendly bunch shared laughs and kindred spirit.

Best beer under one roof I've ever seen in all of my travels. Fabulous Belgian and Trappist selection. A little bit of a dive..bit in fun way.
If you want real beer that isn't trying to win the "most hops per ounce" competition like all the Pacific Northwest micro brews...this is definitely where you wanna be.

Great Belgian and eclectic European bottled beer and a few well-chosen local taps. There was a proper English bitter on cask as well at my last visit. Boistrous and jovial like a Belgian pub, priced for a range of palettes. No food. Table top games and Belgian glassware provided.

What can I say, love Stumbling Monk, love Rob. Love the vibe.
There's like no other place that is open till 2 that can fit a group of 6+ on a Friday night. My friends and I come here often late at night when it's empty and we have plenty of tables to use and seats to sit in. The beers are always fun to try.
I feel like this is a best kept secret and I want to take advantage of it while I can before everyone else floods it once they find out about it.

Excellent selection of Belgians, the vibe is immaculate and perfect and divey, and amazing humans work here. If you know your Belgian beers, you will not be disappointed.

Not the usual Capitol Hill place vibe/crowd. Quiet place with really good beer. They have games too. Also the place might look cheap but it's not due to the beer selection.

Came here on August 26th 2022, found some regulars at the bar and the owner chatting with everyone. Got some nice international brew styles which is refreshing for someone who can't get into the high IBU brews. I just heard the news that all the businesses in this building invested big in themselves, congratulations! I'm excited for more wide ranging beers.

If you like Belgian beer and its kin, this is the place for you. It's a dive bar, to be sure, but the staff is friendly and the customers quiet. No loud music, fancy decor, allowing one to focus on their always on tap St Bernardus, Chimay, as well as the fine and discerning list of bottled beer. A veirty of board games to choose from, as well a some chess sets. A true beer lovers place. It's where the English and philosophy grads hang out (I don't know that for sure, but would not be surprised).

Great spot for a great beer or two or three. It's comfy and cozy and hasn't changed over the years. The original craft beer destination.

Insane beer selection. It’s really rare to have a selection this good on tap - especially for such a small place. There’s always a cask ale on tap, which is a wonderful treat.
The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, too, and can make good recommendations for beers you’re less familiar with. The view of the street is great for people-watching.
However: it’s a bit run down. The bathroom is concerning. Guys seriously, please do something - especially the lighting in that whole section.

A small selection of excellent Belgians on tap + a few local beers. St Bernardus on tap is great, but it's a strong beer so beware. Can bring your own food. The only downside is the area around the bar is a bit seedy.

I have been coming here since I moved to Seattle in '98. To me this is one of the places that IS Seattle. Great beer, a wonderful laid back vibe and just a good place.

Probably the best selection of beer in Seattle. Always at least 8 beers on drafts(Belgians and Sours you can't find anywhere else) and a wide selection of very well priced bottled beers. The owner is awesome and is a beer lover. Laid back cool atmosphere with plenty of board games, by far my favorite bar in Seattle!
Carlos Knippschild
Pretty great! Our group was well served and had fun with the available board games. A very laid back pub to spend a good night with friends.

This bar is an astounding gem. Not one of the biggest beer lists around, but s great selection of Belgian and Belgian style beers, all for incredibly cheap prices. Plus it's a good space for playing board games or having a conversation at a normal volume.

Ahh lots of respect for this noble place. Limited beers on draft but don't be fooled these are the cream of the crop! Lots of Belgian styles esp in bottles but they have the trendy beers too. The decor is really is unique, one of a kind. Board games are vintage style. Everything about this place screams quality and irreverence. Love love love Stumbling Monk.
Mike Carlo
Cool place with very nice bartender. Service was prompt and drinks were cold. I had the saison which was reasonably priced. I'd defiantly stop by for a couple of drinks with the guys.

Great beer!. What more do you need? It's super cazh so don't expect the ambience to blow you away.
